@larkingrumple @Tate Oh do - it’s really beautiful. Exhilarating and calming at the same time. What I love about The Courthald is they control the numbers in exhibitions well. Whilst they’re always busy, I never feel hemmed in and there’s opportunity to stand back and stand close at the pieces.

@Captain_Deltic Would people really travel all that distance and back, just for an evening? There is surely an argument that people coming to Stratford for the RSC are benefitting the town's economy by staying overnight, using local hotels and restaurants.

Interesting interview with the Royal Shakespeare Company leaders saying that the Stratford theatre is handicapped by the lack of a direct London train service. Apparently programmes in the 1960s used to give last train times.

This is very true. Beyond feelings of loss there's also the desperate mute pity of it all; the unknowability of an animal's thoughts; the awful responsibility for ending a life & inability to offer any meaningful comfort to a beloved creature. You feel very alone in the universe.
