The @CWGC headstone of a soldier who died the day after the Armistice was signed. Sadly, I haven’t been able to uncover much of the story of Signaller Caldecote, Royal Garrison Artillery, who is buried at Nuneaton (Stockingford) Cemetery.

@nuneatonmems @BattlefieldBen Really interesting photos. Many of the graves found in the German plot, which is cared for by the @CWGC, at Nuneaton (Oaston Road) Cemetery were POWs. It’s likely they were held in Camp 196 at Arbury Hall.

One of the many @CWGC headstones found in Nuneaton’s Oaston Road Cemetery. Sadly, I haven’t been able to find out much about 51-year-old Pte William Daffern. Some research from @nnwfhs indicates he had been employed as a coal miner and died at a military hospital. #WarGravesWeek
