@AlexHarrison12 @mjrtruthteller @HALLWAY66 @lebanesepsycho_ @BruddaScotch @samah_fadil okay. if u say so 🤷♂️
English

@chronischonline @mjrtruthteller @HALLWAY66 @lebanesepsycho_ @BruddaScotch @samah_fadil Technically all languages are made up 🤷🏽♂️
Modern Hebrew is the bastard child of ancient Hebrew and Yiddish, it is by definition more of “a made-up language” than most.
It was mainly created to legitimize their claim to the land as descendants of ancient Israelites(they’re not).

That feeling when your pseudo-intellectual internet persona becomes effortlessly unravelled and exposed as pure larp by a social challenge from an elderly white lady with a camera, a flashlight and a naturally whimsical disposition
English

@mjrtruthteller @HALLWAY66 @lebanesepsycho_ @BruddaScotch @samah_fadil no in my opinion pointing that out would not be anti-catholic bigotry in itself, unless someone used it to generalize or attack catholics as a group. i didn't think your comment was antisemitic either. i just said that it could come across as antisemitic.
English

@chronischonline @HALLWAY66 @lebanesepsycho_ @BruddaScotch @samah_fadil if, hypothetically, latin was “revived” as a spoken language as part of a project to create a catholic-fascist state, would you consider it anti-catholic bigotry to point that out and call that version of latin a constructed language?
English

@mjrtruthteller @HALLWAY66 @lebanesepsycho_ @BruddaScotch @samah_fadil i’m not a fan of israel and zionism. but i’m not denying people’s identity, history and culture.
English

@mjrtruthteller @HALLWAY66 @lebanesepsycho_ @BruddaScotch @samah_fadil latin is not really comparable here because it was never revived as a native everyday spoken language in a modern society. and that’s the academic distinction, regardless of political framing.
English

@lebanesepsycho_ @mjrtruthteller @HALLWAY66 @BruddaScotch @samah_fadil i didn’t say that it is antisemitic. but that argument can come across as antisemitic.
English

@mjrtruthteller @HALLWAY66 @lebanesepsycho_ @BruddaScotch @samah_fadil linguistically, the consensus is: it’s a revived and standardized semitic language with heavyy modernization, influenced by historical hebrew and existing dialect traditions. that’s not even controversial in academia. you’re heavily biased because of political reasons.
English

@chronischonline @HALLWAY66 @lebanesepsycho_ @BruddaScotch @samah_fadil how dare you have that palestine flag in your bio while you’re denying accepted academic consensus (again, even among fucking israelis!) to defend the feelings of their murderers. fucking nauseating
English

@mjrtruthteller @HALLWAY66 @lebanesepsycho_ @BruddaScotch @samah_fadil modern hebrew being a revived spoken language doesn’t mean it was fabricated from scratch, & it also doesn’t require a state to “justify” its linguistic reality. hebrew had continuous written & liturgical use for centuries, which is different from latin today. revival≠invention
English

@chronischonline @HALLWAY66 @lebanesepsycho_ @BruddaScotch @samah_fadil israeli linguists don’t even dispute that modern hebrew was constructed as part of zionist project. you’re more zionist than fucking israeli academics.
English

@mjrtruthteller @HALLWAY66 @lebanesepsycho_ @BruddaScotch @samah_fadil modern hebrew is absolutely heavily modernized.. but that’s very different from saying it was fabricated out of nowhere. i get where you’re coming from but still.. we shouldn’t delegitimise a whole ethnicity and their identity.
English

@mjrtruthteller @HALLWAY66 @lebanesepsycho_ @BruddaScotch @samah_fadil & no, they didn’t randomly invent how it “sounded.” there were preserved pronunciation traditions from different jewisj communities (sephardi,mizrahi etc.) + massive amounts of written material.
English

@mjrtruthteller @HALLWAY66 @lebanesepsycho_ @BruddaScotch @samah_fadil the way you phrase it makes modern hebrew sound like a made-up language, which it isn’t. it’s a revived language based on an ancient one, not something like esperanto. you should be careful with that framing, because it can easily come across as antisemitic.
English

@HALLWAY66 @lebanesepsycho_ @BruddaScotch @samah_fadil maybe look past the first google result before calling people nazis, zio
