Poverty is expensive in a way that people don’t understand. If you can’t afford a dentist you have long term teeth damage. Not affording healthy food means poor health. Not affording ‘good schools’ means missed opportunities. It is a compounding cycle.

I watched The Lion King (1994) recently with my kids. I hadn't watched it since I was probably 8. What an epic movie. It's kind of nuts how epic it is actually. And some points in the score punch way above their weight for an animated movie - the cue "Kings of the Past" is a good example. No big grand takeaway here, was just sort of blown away with fresh eyes by the general epic of this 1990s animated movie.

this whole country is anti-children and that’s a huge barrier to them being able to fix anything going on right now. especially when they go to college with their big, GOOD ideas and the schools allow police and campus security to brutalize them when they protest.
