Very important lesson for Blue Cities here: Every change Lurie has made has been opposed by screaming, bullying activists -- ignoring them has been the path to policy success and extremely high popularity. @skaushik100 sfchronicle.com/election/artic…

Damn it passed 👇🏼 The Democrat dominated state legislature has no respect for a citizen ballot initiative. This bill alters the highway funds if the the citizen initiative is passed, to once again divert funds to other places other than the roads. There is a better choice in Fort Collins this fall to replace these authoritarian politicians. Yep, @DanielForHD53 is the superior choice for Fort Collins!

🇺🇸 Mike Davis 🇺🇸
'She's pissing off everyone,' said Mike Davis, former chief counsel to the Senate Judiciary Committee for nominations, now head of the Article III Project, an advocacy group that helped secure confirmation of President Trump's three Court nominees. 'The six Republican-appointed justices are sticking together as much as they are because of her. She is having the opposite effect of what the Democrats intended.' . . . 'The biggest loser in Justice Jackson's tenure is Elena Kagan,' Mike Davis of Article III told me. Why? 'Because she's going to be writing dissents for the rest of her life.' dailymail.com/debate/article…

Reminder that Virginia was 48th in the country in reopening our public schools after Covid. Despite repeated warnings this would devastate our kids, Ralph Northam and Dem Assembly didn’t care. Now we are seeing the bitter fruits of such a disastrous public policy decision that will haunt the Commonwealth for years….

I dunno, maybe shutting schools in the state for 18 months was a bad idea?

Damn....this is the greatest good-cop/bad-cop routine in modern diplomacy and nobody wants to admit how perfectly it worked. Trump comes out swinging like the giant boulder in Raiders of the Lost Ark: “Greenland or else ... easy way or the hard way, baby.” The entire world clutches pearls and screams he’s unhinged. Then Marco Rubio’s team quietly slides into the room, smiles politely, and suddenly Denmark is “holding regular negotiations” to hand over three brand-new U.S. military bases designated as sovereign American territory. Not rented. Not shared. Straight-up U.S. soil flying the Stars and Stripes in the Arctic. Greenland’s Prime Minister Jens-Frederik Nielsen is now out here at the Copenhagen Democracy Summit gushing that the talks have taken “some steps in the right direction” and they’re finally “talking respectfully to each other.” Translation: the Danes blinked so hard they saw stars. And the real kicker? These shiny new sovereign bases sit smack on top of one of the planet’s richest rare-earth districts ... the minerals that run EVs, fighter jets, wind turbines, and pretty much everything China currently owns. Trump didn’t need to buy the whole island. He just rolled the boulder, let Rubio collect the prize, and walked away with the Arctic crown jewels anyway. Classic. Predictable. Beautiful. And the foreign-policy geniuses who swore this would never happen are once again left standing there holding their shocked faces. You love to see it. (article below)

It’s been almost two months since President Trump took the bold step of officially forming the Task Force to Eliminate Fraud. We’ve already uncovered tens of billions of dollars in defrauded taxpayer money, prosecuted dozens of fraudsters, and stopped billions in suspicious payments. And we’re just getting started. So why has it taken the federal government until now to finally tackle fraud? Because Andrew Ferguson and I are taking a new approach. Here’s how.

Brian Kemp calls a special session to redraw Georgia's Congressional districts for 2028. There are two possibilities here. Either Georgia will revert to the 2022 map, which was struck down for not being VRA compliant (they shuffled around Atlanta to make it compliant but the outcome was the same) or they will drastically change GA-02, depending on how Scott in GA-08 feels, GA-02 can be drawn up to R+9, with only effecting Scott.

In case anyone's curious how the OPT scam works, here's my understanding: Optional Practical Training (OPT) lets F-1 students work in the U.S. for 1–3 years after graduation, mostly as a bridge to an H-1B work visa. The catch: the student has to be employed in their field, but enforcement is nonexistent. The school updates a checkbox in SEVIS (the federal student tracking system) based on what the student reports, and the employer is largely taken at their word.. The scam: a shell "employer" charges the student a few hundred dollars a month in exchange for paperwork showing they're meaningfully employed... job letters, fake training plans, sometimes fake payroll. That keeps the student legally in status. Why students pay in: the H-1B is a lottery with maybe a 25–30% selection rate, so most lose, sometimes multiple years running. Meanwhile a 90-day unemployment limit on OPT can terminate their status. Many have families back home who spent $50K–$200K on a U.S. degree expecting it to lead somewhere. Paying a shell for fake employment is cheaper than going home empty-handed. How it gets caught: one shell can have hundreds of "students" listed as employees across SEVIS records at various universities. But on IRS filings, state business records, and payroll taxes, the same company reports only a handful of real employees, because reporting 500 would trigger immediate scrutiny and real tax liability. ICE cross-matches the two databases, and the shells fall out.

Another iterative improvement to the 36-2 Texas map. Cruz wins all 36 districts in 2018 by over 3%. Every district is won by Trump by over 6 in 2020 and 34 by over 9. Two black majority districts are now so optimized they voted for Harris by over 82%

Wow 12 seats! And only 7 constitutional amendments needed to get them? Easy peasy! Just going to post the 36-2 Texas map where even Cruz won every seat in 2018 and every seat was won by Trump by at least 9% in 2020

Pretty to see how this is going to work out for the Donkey Party, but they don't want to listen to the common sense of John Fetterman and Jared Golden. Still reeling from their 2024 loss but falsely believing they're SO BACK because of +8pt special election overperformances for District Cat Wrangler Supervisor, Democrats nominate Fresh New candidates like Francesca Kong, Nirava Shah, Eugene Vindman, Oystergraspenfuhrer Platner, and the like across the country. Horrified that the Democrats have lurched so far left, older voters cling to the old familiar names: John James, Paul LePage, Jonathan Bush (?), Mike Rogers. All elections are nationalized now, so this further serves to drag down other Democrats who carry that now-tarnished party label. Surprise, surprise. Contrary to Democrat's over-hyped expectations, Republicans manage to gain seats in both the Senate and in total Governorships. Maybe even gain in the House as well, but I don't want to inflate expectations like Democrats are doing to their side. All because the angry base didn't want another four years of Good Old Joe Biden.

I calculate 204 safe Republican seats this morning factoring in +1 from LA and AL each. Adding in one decisive seat I am certain will flip, plus six leaners, I am at 211. That is how bad the weakness in AL, LA, and SC is, plus unwillingness of MS to move. Thats four more for 215 on the table. Indiana is 2 more for 217. Utah judge corruption not happening is the 218 majority. When you’re talking game of inches, it’s the 2026 midterms.

@AlexandraSalmon @mattforney This. Make it absolute misery to exist in America if you're here illegally, and they will leave in droves. I have sympathy for people wanting a better life I just want them to do it in their home country, and I want Americans to have a shot at a better life.

I agree, and I'm very happy all this is taking place as it's more in 1.4 years than every other year of my life before that (and before I was born). However, we need to be doing so much more. It should be impossible to drive, bank, secure housing, access benefits, or just about anything if you are here illegally. If we stop incentivizing this behavior, people will stop coming as it's then no longer a better life than the one they left. We could flip this switch tomorrow. It's past time to do it!
