I don’t think extending Harry Maguire is a bad decision at all. Financially, Manchester United can’t overhaul every position in one window, and losing both him and Casemiro at the same time would mean losing key leaders and a big aerial presence. Right now, compared to the other CBs, Maguire actually looks like the most reliable in terms of availability, experience, and even his overall contribution. That said, there still needs to be a decision on Matthijs de Ligt and Lisandro Martinez. Injuries have made them unreliable, and I still feel one of them should be moved on this summer — preferably De Ligt.

I don’t care what anyone says, it’s absolutely the right move to keep Harry going into next season. With UCL football & a heavier schedule ahead, his leadership, experience & qualities will be crucial. + We already have a lot of money to spend on the midfield, fullbacks & potentially even a LW. Keeping Harry & developing Yoro / looking for a new defender next summer is the right move.

Carrick as a full-time coach would be the final proof United are run on vibes, not standards. You don’t close the gap on Manchester City by hiring comfort—you do it by hiring killers. Not one single Manchester United player, has being improved under Michael Carrick. Question marks about his style of play. Questions marks about his talent ID. Question marks about favoritism in the dressing room? Question marks of his ability to handle the dressing room. And lastly, Question marks about his in game management, practicality and ability to handle top quality competition like the champions league etc.

Harry Maguire is not your problem. I get the Manchester United needs to offload players but he shouldn’t even be top 7 considered. We have more deadwood at the club
