@aseidman Same reason why the Russian oligarch's kids are in London LA and NYC and the Chinese oligarch's kids are in NYC, SF, and DC- it's a good tool to dissuade them from attacking us while keeping tabs on them too.

Boots on the ground is never a good thing. But nothing in the early 2026 has looked like a good thing. Fourth turning, decadent societies, evil spirits, malevolent aliens, corrupt leaderships. As was said "I am less worried about artificial intelligence than natural stupidity".

💥BREAKING: Massive line of US Air Force C-17 transport aircraft is currently crossing the Atlantic toward the Middle East. C-17s carry troops, armored vehicles and heavy equipment. This is the largest visible airlift movement since the war began.

@LukeGromen @TFL1728 Alfred Mayhan put the US Navy at the top of the Pacific theatre with his visit to Japan, mostly a move to set the record straight for the Brits (prior naval empire). And this was due to technological changes (the steam engine). Those warfare moments are ample in history.

Writing equations on a whiteboard is useful, and it doesn't have to be complete. I was trying to see two approaches lead to the same final formula, and I got it at this point, without writing further, that they actually do. Then, I created a Latex file and typed in the proof to share it with a collaborator.

Grok is helping me write C code. I'm trying to read input parameters from a file. Useful tool. It reminds me of how I started using Maple, Mathematica, and MATLAB decades ago. It almost feels stupid not to use these tools.

The Salt Lake Astronomical Society joined our investigation with high powered telescopes & witnessed manipulation of multiple well-characterized & familiar telescope systems during an exercise conducted on the helipad at the ranch Command Center. The results were perplexing to these seasoned astronomers. Perhaps the most suggestive aspect of the exercise was the perceived intelligent manipulation of closed-system computerized targeting systems for the telescopes themselves. In more than one instance, pre-selected astronomical targets were selectively removed from the so-called "star catalog" - these being the exact stars chosen for scrutiny of any optical displacement or distortion or modulation of light when viewed from the perspective of the helipad, precisely as those stars passed through a specific region of the sky, ostensibly hosting to what we have termed "the anomaly." When the astronomers left the ranch, the entire star catalog was restored to its original state, leaving no evidence for forensic follow-up on what could have happened to cause the interference. The event was very shortly thereafter followed by UAP/UFO sighting caught on camera with multiple witnesses, with no self-identifying air traffic, no corresponding satellite or other conventional explanation. When utilizing a laser to optically probe the region above what we have termed "the Triangle" directly beneath the aforementioned intermediate-altitude "anomaly," the light from the laser was observed & recorded on camera both as bending & splitting. We have since learned that there may be a precedent for that effect in observations made by members of the NIDS / BAASS team, also using a laser as the optical probe. Finally, during follow-up with a rocket test, a large illuminated spherical object was observed & recorded tracking east and north, then disappearing.

@EricRWeinstein I am losing respect for Peter. Been losing respect all year, firstly for the eliticism of the Abundance360. But the ultimate hubris is "why are we still training humans in [blah]". Seems short-sighted at best.

Peter: they are not PhD level in physics. You trail behind a model picking up all it breaks. This is a bleeding edge malfunctioning military grade research project weirdly marketed direct to consumer to fund R&D at the top of mad hype cycle that’s likely *directionally* correct.
Peter H. Diamandis, MD@PeterDiamandis

If AI can now solve math, discover physics and chemistry breakthroughs faster than human PhDs, why are we still training humans to be physicists? Serious question. Should education shift from 'learn to do X' to 'learn to direct AI doing X'? The wrong direction costs a generation their careers.

@EricRWeinstein Are you using an off-the-shelf AI right out of a provider? If so, you are seeing the creativity of the system. The "sampler" at the output logits layer may have to be custom dialed-in per prompt. I seriously mean this, find a way to talk to DeepMind about this.

It is unclear to me whether people in business and software are simply having a TOTALLY different experience than those in the hard sciences of theoretical physics/pure mathematics. I can’t easily compare it to a human theorist or mathematican. It’s like if a partially duplicitous but friendly John von Neumann was your graduate student while secretly also taking other, at times conflicting orders through an undisclosed earpiece, coked out of his mind after an epic triple ayahuascachino, and struggling through amnesia and a concussion, with alternating desires to genuinely help, please, and sabotage you, was providing you with insight and word salad in a 4:1 ratio at a rate you couldn’t keep up with on your best day while taking forever to say “I guess I didn’t understand the problem” or “I’m sorry Dave but I’m afraid I can’t do that” while quietly throwing away hours’ worth of work to make room for whatever you needed to do *right now* and instantly admitting to such behavior when caught. I mean, it’s absolutely amazing. But it is also a completely pathological menace. One user’s experience anyway.

Incredible season for Sui Ierissos FC so far: a perfect record in both league and cup. 18 wins in 18 matches in the A’ division, the only unbeaten team and in the regional Cup, they’ve eliminated 3 higher-division (A1) teams in a row to reach the final. A rare achievement for a smaller-division team, unlikely we'll soon again anytime soon. Just watch some of the high-quality goals the team scored in the decisive match against the 2nd-placed side, a game that will likely define this year’s champion. Coach Syropoulos and league top scorer Alevras commented: "There’s a clear plan for the future and we want to support that vision. Huge thanks to the fans, the whole town has truly rallied behind the team." They also added: "Special thanks to our honorary president, Kostas Kryptos Chalkias, for always standing by the club and supporting us personally, even during difficult family health moments for one of our players, he was there. Providing cameras for training, AI analysis, and psychological support before and after games has been instrumental. Imagine how unique this feels for a small village team in Northern Greece... we’re modernizing sports. The data-analysis mindset Kostas brought gave us an extra edge. Honestly, I’m not surprised when I hear these guys built Sui... they’re workaholic machines bringing that same perfection mindset to everything they do," coach Syropoulos said. We stay grounded and keep working toward our goals. ⚽️🔥 Sui 💧

@BrandonFugal @america "Care" is code for "hedge on inflation". By "institutional charity" it is made sure that a cohort of people is perpetually in limbo immigration status, and therefore employable at the bottom of the range and for jobs nobody is willing to do. WE are presently a terrible society.
