@MikaMika198388 I’m so sorry to read about these losses. It is clear that you have a very big heart and an enormous amount of love to give. That love does not end when we lose people; it just takes on a different form. Wishing you much peace and comfort. ❤️

I have not been on X much lately. In a short period of time I lost 4 peole I loved and cared for deeply. Losing people you love, one after another, in a single stretch of time is a particular kind of exhaustion, grief that doesn’t get to settle before the next wave arrives. Death has started to feel like a constant presence, and the fragility of life has become impossible to ignore. I am trying my utmost best not to turn death into an enemy. Most of us are taught to fight it, deny it, or rage against it. Letting it simply be, without making it a friend, without forcing acceptance I don’t feel is hard. I don’t want to force friendship with death. It’s enough, for now, to stop treating it as a personal adversary and just acknowledge that it is part of the same landscape as love. The people I lost mattered because they were real, specific and irreplaceable. Their absence is the measure of how much they filled the space while they were here. That ache I am feeling is not a failure of acceptance, it’s evidence of the depth of the connection I had with them. I am allowed to miss them fiercely while still choosing, day by day, to keep living in a world that suddenly feels thinner without them.

The Islamic regime arrested former Iranian national team goalkeeper Rashid Mazaheri and threw him into solitary confinement in Urmia Prison. For more than a decade, Rashid defended Iran's goal. He proudly wore the national team jersey and represented millions of Iranians on the international stage. Then, in February 2026, he did something even more courageous. After the Islamic regime's deadly crackdown on the January 2026 protests, Rashid publicly called Ali Khamenei "a dark and passing chapter in Iran's history." That single post cost him his freedom. Today, he is being held in solitary confinement under harsh conditions while his wife Maryam desperately pleads for his release. His only "crime" was speaking the truth and standing with the Iranian people. Rashid Mazaheri is not a criminal. He is a patriot. Say his name.

@gIngelaLarsson @jakobforssmed Thanks for highlighting this. The same story is playing out in the UK and the Netherlands. It would take the most basic scrutiny to uncover this kind of information, but it’s not being carried out. It’s hard to believe this is simply an oversight.

#svpol

Antisemites demand control over Jewish Holocaust commemorations by targeting the Israeli ambassador’s presence. Institutions enable it, shifting blame onto Jews. This is not just a Dutch story, it’s happening across the diaspora. This post and Dr Sapir’s ToI blog are must-reads.

Hoe bestuurders daarop reageren, is wél nieuws. 1/2

It is deeply disturbing that political pressure is reportedly being exerted on Rotterdam’s Mayor, @carolaschouten Carola Schouten, to prevent Israel’s Ambassador from participating in the annual Loods 24 Holocaust commemoration. Loods 24 is where thousands of Rotterdam’s Jews were rounded up and deported to the death camps. This is not a political event. It is a solemn moment to honour the victims of the Holocaust. To exclude the representative of the world’s only Jewish state from such a commemoration would be a profound mistake. After the Holocaust, the survivors of Rotterdam’s Jewish community who rebuilt their lives did so in Israel. Their children and grandchildren are now part of Israeli society, making the Israeli Ambassador not only the representative of the Jewish state, but also the representative of the descendants of those very survivors. Excluding the Ambassador would therefore disrespect both the memory of those who were murdered and the legacy of those who survived and rebuilt their lives in Israel, while sending the deeply troubling message that Jewish representation at Holocaust commemorations is somehow conditional. Mayor Schouten, we urge you to reject this pressure. Holocaust remembrance must never be dictated by contemporary politics or intimidation. Stand by the invitation to Israel’s Ambassador and ensure that the dignity of this commemoration is preserved. @IsraelMFA

I shan’t comment more on the passing of our friend as it becomes almost crass to post and post about her. She was my friend and I keep that in my heart and memory. I will share this for Shabbat. A beautiful video made by our exquisite fairy. Her last message to us in our little group was a week ago today. I’ve dreaded today as I knew we wouldn’t get a new piece of art. All I’ll say is we all can be the people we admire by DOING IT. We can harness and share light. We can choose not to gossip. We can learn more instead of being lazy (this is my curse) Have a meaningful and peaceful Shabbat. To all non Jewish friends have a great weekend. We matter to each other. It’s just an app but the friendships are real. We are real people engaged in something we believe in. Always be kind to one another. We do not know what is round the corner.

@DeBarsham The U.K. is amazing for blackberries. Far fewer bushes here in the Netherlands, and the berries themselves are smaller and less sweet, but by scouting my entire neighbourhood, I managed to get about 800g, just enough for a delicious crumble.

Campaign Against Antisemitism
BB gun shots injure Jews in Manchester. CAA is aware that on Monday evening, three people were injured after a BB gun was fired from a passing car at speed. Police are treating the shooting as a religiously aggravated attack on Jews. The incident took place on Leicester Road in Salford on Monday night at around 22:00 but was not made public during the early stages of the investigation. The victims, all adults, sustained minor injuries. Shomrim Greater Manchester @ShomrimBPCP, the local Jewish community neighbourhood watch patrol, accessed CCTV footage along the route and identified the vehicle registration number, assisting Greater Manchester Police, which has now arrested two suspects. The suspects have been detained on suspicion of religiously aggravated common assault and remain in custody for questioning. Last summer, in an unrelated incident two men filmed themselves firing a water gun from their car at Jewish passersby. Now it has escalated to real injuries from a BB gun. What will be next? While we thank Greater Manchester Police for their professionalism in apprehending suspects, our message to the Government is that its extra spending on policing to protect British Jews is not the solution. Rampant extremism and Jew-hatred must be tackled at source, including the use of a conflict thousands of miles away to inflame hatred here in Britain. We are extremely grateful to the volunteers of Shomrim Greater Manchester for their remarkable diligence and we wish the victims a full and speedy recovery. Swift justice will be a first step to restoring deterrence for these sorts of crimes. But it is still no substitute for the political and societal leadership that we desperately need to confront the antisemitic and extremist ideologies plaguing this country, with Jews paying the highest cost.
