Speaking of Star Fox... I loved Star Fox Adventures. I know not everyone loved it. For me, it was a well-rounded conclusion to the history of Rare and Nintendo.

@Philozoid Oh I thought you had one already. 😭 But honestly I'd just look on ebay or something. When I bought my brand new PS5 Slim from there it was $639 CAD. If it doesn't have to be PlayStation you can also easily get Xbox Series S for less than $290, all FF games are on there too now.

@UGamer81 @OatmealDome This was the first game that came to mind, the handheld res on Switch was super low! Glad you can play it in higher fidelity on the go now!

@OatmealDome Testing it on Xenoblade 2 right now. Right is with Handheld Mode Boost turned on. It doesn't really hurt to look at so much anymore, especially in motion.

[Nintendo Switch 2 System Update] Version 22.0.0 adds "Handheld Mode Boost". This will make Switch 1 games think that they are in TV mode even when in handheld. Games can run at higher resolutions in TV mode, taking better advantage of the Switch 2's 1080p screen.

@EmilyAYoung1 This certainly makes some (not all) of the characters look more "realistic", as they claim. But this is nothing anyone wants. I want the artistic vision and style these people poured their heart and souls into. They're not supposed to look real.

I need to read up on how it works… But I’m more than a little surprised by how unflinchingly positive Digital Foundry is about this. I understand that this is going to be a taste thing, but we’re demonstrably not looking at the same subjects before/after. That deserves scrutiny.

Okay, I know I need to see it in a form other than “look at this difference” but several of these characters no longer look like the same character. Old lady from HL (haven’t played) goes from a few wrinkles to Raisin Gran.
