I have travelled regularly to Singapore, Malaysia, and recently Vietnam. I did not see even a single stray dog roaming in the streets of Vietnam cities too. Why are only Indian streets so overpopulated with them? Whats the solution?

Union Ministry of Road Transport & Highways has been given permission to transfer some major roads in Karnataka from Public Works Department (PWD) to the National Highways Authority of India. Following roads are being handed over to NHAI by PWD - Karnataka. 1) Bellary-Jevargi (265 km) 2) Hubballi - Vijayapura (199 km) 3) Shivamogga-Honnavara (160 km) 4) Humnabad - Maharashtra border (83 km) 5) Hosakote to Hosuru + other TN border roads (Total 60 km) 6) Gundya to Heggadde (25 km) 7) Berambadi to Kerala border (20 km) According to PWD officials, this handover will bring in more funds for road development , maintenance with toll system & good safety measures.

Another waiting for 9. Same authority—two very different outcomes. One under continuous judicial monitoring (Supreme Court, Chandrashekar Committee, now High Court) — the other without judicial oversight. Delivery should not depend on monitoring pressure—citizens deserve uniform standards everywhere. Video 1 – Dr Shivarama Karanth Layout (under judicial monitoring): No to negligible land acquisition issues, Formation began ~3 years ago. Though allotment is yet to begin, the layout is practically “ready to construct.” Roads asphalted with good quality. Footpaths completed. UGD laid. Water supply provision in place. Electricity nearing completion. Strong sector connectivity. CA & parks fenced. Sites are neat and clean, boundary stones fixed, numbering clearly visible individual utility connections properly marked and culvert network closed with slabs. Video 2 – Nadaprabhu Kempegowda Layout (9 years old): Majorly DPR, App5oved scheme plan violated, Sites allotted in 2016 & 2018. Basic amenities still “work in progress.” Multiple deadlines have passed. Another May 2026 deadline may come and go—but on ground, “work in progress” has not changed to “completed.” Even after 9 years, 1000+ acres acquisition remains pending. In ~2800 acres formed area,along with many works, finishing works are yet to be completed. Continuity and connectivity remain weak across layout.Asphalting has picked up, but quality appears inconsistent. Electricity work lags. UGD and water supply face continuity issues due to acquisition gaps. Finishing works such as site and culvert cleaning, demarcation, numbering, culvert slab covering, and signboards are progressing at a very slow pace. No footpaths. No proper inter-block connectivity—MAR remains the only lifeline, No slabs on culverts network.

The Delhi-Mumbai Expressway is perhaps the most expensive -worst built/managed highway in India. Travelled on it to reach Niwai. Absolutely no discipline or monitoring. (1) Sand mafia owned dumpers drive in the overtaking lane to escape non-existent cops. (2) Most have no/hidden Registration plates. So if they hit someone they can’t be tracked (3) no cops as netas & babus head sand/stone mafia or own the trucks (4) Trucks drive faster than speed limit. Most speed monitor posts not working. @sikchtr @Captain_Mani72 @BDAOfficialGok Yes, in bidding it's normal and universal. In low ranges people will gamble and bid, hoping on a chance, but once it crosses there limit then they withdraw. serious bidders will continue. Remember if you bid and win you have to buy, else you lose the EMD.

BDA is continuously working to improve citizens’ experience and to provide effective solutions to public grievances. As part of these efforts, and in addition to the weekly Open House Meetings, BDA is making public the weekly schedule of the Commissioner to help citizens plan their visits in a transparent and structured manner. It may be noted that the Commissioner is available to the public on all days in the month, except two days in a month; that's the first Saturday and third Saturday, and please note that the second and fourth Saturdays are holidays. The public can visit the BDA commissioner during Visitors’ Time from 3:00 PM to 5:30 PM on all other working days. On Mondays, Tuesdays, and Fridays, visitors are allowed direct walk-ins during the designated visitors’ time. No prior appointment is required for these days. On other days, Wednesday is earmarked for specific project reviews, and the concerned public can participate either online or in person by informing in advance, while for the Thursday Open House meeting, public attendance is only by invitation and prior appointment. On Saturdays, the Commissioner is engaged in field inspections and will not be available for public meetings. As the schedule is subject to last-minute changes due to official meetings with the government, committees, or meetings with ministers, citizens are advised to contact the BDA 24/7 Control Room at 94831 66622 to confirm the Commissioner’s availability before planning a visit. Please also note that the Commissioner’s chamber is under CCTV surveillance 24×7, including during public interaction hours. #BDA #BDAOHM
