@joekent16jan19 We need single issue bills, this is a major selling point. We need to have real conversations about the one blind spot the founding fathers seemed to have, major entity (large company or foreign countries) lobbying.

21-year-old Corion Foster is now officially charged for an alleged fatal police chase crash on Indy’s near east side earlier this month. His passenger, 21-year-old Lesley Yarrell III, was thrown from the truck in the crash and died. The crash happened just after midnight May 8 near Washington and State. Foster was allegedly driving nearly 90 mph at the time of the crash. Police say an officer was trying to stop Foster for suspected DUI. He allegedly sped off and later crashed in a construction zone. Foster was wanted on two active felony warrants at the time of the crash. He’s now in jail on a hold for those warrants. He was charged this morning with: - Resisting law enforcement causing death, a Level 3 felony - Reckless homicide, a Level 5 felony - Operating without ever having a license and causing death, a Level 5 felony. He is set to have his first court appearance on the new charges next week.

I just obtained the court documents detailing the case Mayor Sue Finkam was drawing attention to.
31-year-old Manuel Ettress faces 26 news charges including robbery resulting in serious bodily injury, kidnapping while hijacking a vehicle, battery resulting in serious bodily injury, and driving while intoxicated.
Ettress is accused of carjacking a victim at the GetGo in Carmel in the 11500 Block of Illinois Street at 10:23PM on Tuesday night.
A man was helping his daughter put air in her tire when police say Ettress jumped into the driver's seat of the car with his daughter still inside. The father yelled for his daughter to get out while he tried to fight Ettress off and out of the car.
According to the probable cause, the daughter kicked Ettress in the face 10 times and got out. The father was hit with the driver's door, dragged to the ground while Ettress is accused of crashing into the gas pump, speeding off leaving the victim on the ground injured.
The victim was taken to the hospital for surgery with four broken bones in his arm and open wounds on his hands, arms, and legs. He needed two plates and 13 screws.
Minutes after Ettress sped off police say he crashed into a house in the 12800 block of Fleetwood Drive South and took off again but was quickly found walking in the area with a clear glass pipe with burnt ends with a copper scouring pad.
Police say Ettress was driving with a suspended license.
I have been looking through 14 pages and more than 30 cases against Ettress. Most cases are for level 6 felony thefts out of
Marion County. He was most recently transferred from the Marion County Jail on a GPS monitor and sent to Monroe County to answer to theft charges there.
After going before a judge in Hancock County, he was released from jail, but I am still trying to determine under what type of monitoring if any.
Here is my interview this morning with Carmel Mayor Sue Finkam on her frustration with "repeat offenders cycling through the system." One correction in the interview I said Ettress had a Carmel address, but that address is an emergency contact. He Carmel EMS he had been staying in shelters.

My big problem with Dave is that he’s a dogmatic asshole. Monolithic approaches are for those without mental flexibility and I can’t respect it. Dave is at some kind of critical mass. And once you hit critical mass it doesn’t matter too much you can make money with money. But then these guys seem to forget that and pat themselves on the back like they are fucking geniuses. I mean he tells the kids not to buy at truck at 12% over 8 years that GOOD advice but the educated leverage gamble is often what can make it for a motivated person to get from here to there. And he’s stupid or lying to not acknowledge that.

I’m a big fan of the principals of Dave,but you can’t do what he did in today’s economy without taking on some debt. Few can buy a house without taking on a mortgage. I think one should minimize all debt and then work to pay it to zero but to get going, most will need to take on some debt

If I told you that one man since 2020 has faced over 30 criminal cases in Indiana, including most being felony charges in Marion County for theft, resisting law enforcement, drug offenses, residential entry, auto theft, and criminal trespass, would you expect him to be in jail? Me too. Recently, he allegedly committed a violent crime against Carmel residents, injured a victim and terrorized a family. Unacceptable. Let me ask what many residents are likely thinking: How does this happen?! Carmel and other donut county residents pay the price when repeat offenders in Marion County cycle through the system without accountability. Our residents deserve to be safe. And police officers, who repeatedly do their jobs and put themselves in harm’s way, deserve a system that works alongside them. We’ve invested in more personnel, technology and partnerships to keep Carmel safe. Enough is enough. This cannot be our new normal. It’s time Marion County does their part and holds criminals accountable.

BREAKING: we are headed to a person shot at or near the convention center in downtown Indianapolis.
IMPD responded to shots fired in the 100 block of S Capitol Avenue at 6:10. The 911 call came back to the address of 101 S Capitol Avenue.
Police found the person shot and in critical condition.
IMPD detained a person on scene.
