In round two you are reseeded by wins so Edm would be the host. The round 3 one is interesting for the league to do a mock example. They could use the 2023 season where three teams in the West were better than all the teams in the East

No, terrible teams don’t go on three game winning streaks all the time, that’s why they are terrible. Not to mention it would be a three game road winning streak.
Also, the worst team in the league doesn’t beat the best team in the league “often”.
But please keep exaggerating how all the bad teams are all of sudden going to win the Grey Cup.

Still can't get over this lie. Terrible teams go on 3 game streaks all the time. 9th place beats the eventual GC champion, often. No skill involved anymore. Get hot for 3 weeks and win the Grey Cup. All in the name of a few extra dollars. Gross. Simply fcking gross.

@nielsonTSN1260 Dustin, you should review the 2022 Grey Cup path for TO. Worse record than 3 teams out West, get one win and in the Grey Cup. New standard would be 1 win at home then they could have gone on the road to Calgary as their record was worse. Thoughts on my interpretation?

@bradyoliveira Or maybe look at it this way. The season matters to get home field advantage in the playoffs. Go interview @TeamMDunstone on how the round robin in the Brier is meaningless with the page playoff system. And if the league expands this is a good test run of the new format.

Playoff football is supposed to be earned. If anything, grow the league by adding more teams…. not the number of automatic spots. 🤷🏽♂️

@DTonOB Derek, can you confirm that the home team is reseeded based on regular season record for each round. Look at 2022 season and assume there are no upsets in the playoff rounds. The east would only have 2 home games. The rest would be played in the West. Kinda crazy if true

I do like the thought of teams needing to win more than once to reach the Grey Cup.
CFL prioritizing finishing top-2 in division by still allowing a 2nd-place team with worse record to host Round 2 game.

New playoffs from the CFL: Round 1: 1st- and 2nd-place teams play for a spot in Round 3. Losers will play in Round 2. Play-in Games: Teams not in top-2 in division will be seeded 5-8. 5 plays 8, 6 plays 7. Winners advance to Round 2. Losers are out.
