@UnPassant_ @Canis_Atra British philosophers, birthing immensly important ideas like human rights and Individual freedom from authorities. Taking Nietzsche as your example of German philosopy over one of the Center Figuren of the Enlightenment Kant, has to be disingenious
English

@UnPassant_ @Canis_Atra That is why I said in reference to ancient Roman and Greek philosophy. But these Ideas were spread and refined in the wider philosophical discourse of the countries I mentioned. Humanism originated in Northern Italy, but got picked up in the enlightenment, by french, german and...
English

@UnPassant_ @Canis_Atra I tried to imply this before by giving the example of the european enlightenment. When we speak of western values they largely are of French, British and German origin (Of course also in reference to greek and roman philophy of antiquity). Look up the most famous philosophers
English

@Canis_Atra @not_a_jug Western Europe would be UK and France alone (centralized states).
Southern Europe would be Portugal, Spain and Italy alone (loyalty to Roman pope power).
I don't know yet the criteria for the two other categories but I already know that 🇧🇪, 🇳🇱and 🇩🇪 are not Western Europe.
English

@CavernOnHumans How exactly do you imagine this is going to be confusing? Only thing I could see is someone orders the mind stone from a large online seller and acccidentily gets send mindstone. Otherwise they have very different Art, different effects and one is colored while the other isn't
English

This won't be confusing at all...
Jack, King Krab@BlitzMTG
You vs the guy she told you not to worry about
English

@The1Nuked @RimaEvenstar No probably just some cringe tryhard marketing to get people hyped when she "unexpectedly" returns
English

@RimaEvenstar Can I be filled in cuz im so lost, was she cancelled or something? What happened
English

@wizards_magic Man, we really are going to get 3 more Marvel sets at least after this one to complete the cycle. If we are going to do 50% of standard sets are universes beyond, can we at least get more variety
English

As beautiful as the Headliner version of The Mind Stone is, you probably want to know what it does. #MTGxMarvel

English

Now it’s time to take a sneak peek at #MTGxMarvel! We’ve got stunning art, a few cards, and the Headliner reveal!

@roninburntorng @soren2point0 Most of the angry comments are from Czech accounts, but I have seen a lot of Polish accounts angry as well
English

@soren2point0 @not_a_jug You can narrow this circle down to Czech R only — no one else has such complexes. Yes, they might argue, but they’re unlikely to throw a tantrum like Czechs do. + I think only Estonia can be classified as N Europe; your two southern neighbors should also be considered part of EE
English

@MrLammi777 @Relay_Reckless Interesting, did not know the UN had this classification
English

@UnPassant_ This is very much opinion-based. This was just a post I made as a fun discussion point, expecting maybe 1 or 2 responses max. Feel free to do this based on objective criteria, although I think that would be very hard, if not futile. Could certainly be interesting
English

@not_a_jug Sorry, I ask for an objective criteria that would work to place all countries in its category and you are telling me that you are debating upon it, one by one ? You understand that your classification is utterly subjective and arbitrary, right ?
English

@ChineseDruid already discussed this with someone else: x.com/not_a_jug/stat…

@dirtbag222 style architecture, so maybe not my best grouping. I grouped Southern Europe based on the Greek-roman heritage of the Roman Empire and commonly being seen as Mediterranean Europe. So based on the second factor Croatia, Bosnia and Albania might also be fair to put in the South
English

@not_a_jug why is Greece Southern but Albania or Macedonia aren't? The things you want to express maybe aren't expressee in geographic terms?
English

@nickshanks_ It definitely is, but the tool I used colours Countries the same based on their entire political territory. Parts of southern France should also be coloured yellow, but I would have had to used a more subdevided map
English

@ecenbt They have a Greek part, and are not that far away from other Greek islands and they are part of the European Union
English

@_eternalplus I am aware of Corsians opposing being grouped in with France. However, this tool colours all of the country politically considered part of it the same, unless you use a more subdivided map, which I did not do
English

@not_a_jug I don't know anything about Corsica so I'll take this at face value.
English

English

@dirtbag222 I guess you could call me grouping the Baltics as northern based on close economic ties to the northern countries, all the way back to the Middle Ages and when seeing baltic landscapes and architecture I always think it looks very much like Finland. There is also Soviet(1/2
English

@washington_21 @OzgurCreativity @auraverra Obviously, Russia is a multicultural state that has a lot of asian people in its non-European part. The tool I used just colours the country all in one colour
English

@not_a_jug Judging by your complexes, I think you're from Eastern Germany
