On 21st October 2025, the CEO of the EHRC wrote to Stonewall seeking formal assurance that its activities align with a correct understanding of the law. After receiving no response by mid-Nov 2025, the Board agreed to send a second letter with a short deadline, noting that they would consider further action if Stonewall failed to comply. On 18th December the CEO and Chair met with the CEO of Stonewall. On 21st Jan 2026, a second letter was sent requesting a response to the original compliance inquiry. On 25th March 2026, the EHRC Board closed the action item on seeking this assurance from Stonewall. Its not clear what if any assurance was received.

This is a bizarre write-up by @stonewalluk - suggesting the UK Supreme Court judgment was all about public boards in Scotland and that it was limited in scope. Why would framing positive action schemes for women as having sex-based criteria lead "to a freezing of such schemes". What strange vague, passive language. What are they talking about? And why no celebration of the protection for lesbian associations, and associations of gay men?

Colchester @marksandspencer I asked where the women’s changing room was to try on swimwear. Manager Andrew (he/ his /him) says gender neutral changing areas are “completely safe” for women and girls. For asking him this question, he told me to leave the store. @SexMattersOrg

Service providers need to be aware of the liability risk of operating mixed sex facilities where women are in a heightened state of vulnerability or a state of undress. It’s lawful to provide single-sex facilities for changing, showering, and sanitary use.

A short video explaining what the EHRC Code of Practice on public services does (and doesn't) do. It's not law; it's guidance to help duty-bearers understand their existing legal obligations. knowingius.org/p/ehrc-guidanc…

A lot of people have struggled to believe me when I say that the Australian Human Rights Commission is giving pregnancy protections in law to men who claim to be woman, because it’s so stupid it’s hard to believe anyone would say it. Enjoy:

The risk of a woman being abused or assaulted in the women's toilet is indeed low, as long as it remains women-only. Risk goes up considerably when men are admitted to women's spaces. thetimes.com/life-style/sex… I'd be very interested to see the statistics on a trans-identified man's risk of being assaulted in the men's bathroom. Do you have them, @owenjonesjourno?
Owen Jones@owenjonesjourno

The risk of a trans woman being abused or assaulted in the men’s toilet per visit = extremely high. The risk of a woman being abused or assaulted in the women’s toilet per visit = extremely low.

@owenjonesjourno @EHRC We don’t share women’s facilities with gay men, disabled men, young men, old men or any other vulnerable men. We won’t do it for trans-ID men either. It would eliminate the protection those spaces offer to us. And we fought for them. They are ours...

NEW: We have written to the Minister for Women and Equalities Bridget Phillipson, calling on her to withdraw the “asking about sex” section of the EHRC code of practice for service providers because it is legally wrong.

The MPs claiming the government has successfully ‘scaled back the law’ through making amendments to the EHRC Code of Practice don’t know what they’re talking about. They’re just saying it because they think it makes them look good and the EHRC bad.
Akua Reindorf KC@akuareindorf

@bphillipsonMP @EHRC The substantive changes to the @EHRC Code since it was sent to Govt last year are: 1. a new & untested legal interpretation on multi-protected characteristic associations 2. sex is now said to be “special category data”, which is wrong & looks amenable to legal challenge…/3

The Supreme Court has ruled that under UK law, trans people never had the rights people like you insisted they had. You misrepresented the law and cheered on the removal of women’s rights. Trans people have lost nothing except the mistaken belief you fostered.
Rachel Millward@rachelmillward

Today my heart is with our trans community, treated so abysmally in this country. Draft guidance means trans people are barred from services they could previously access & inclusive service providers will be at legal risk. Green Party statement: greenparty.org.uk/2026/05/22/sia…

Follow the logic. Women are deluded and naive for thinking predatory and violent men can be kept out of women-only spaces. ‘They can rape you anywhere.’ However, trans-identified men can only be safe in women-only spaces, because no abuser would ever follow them in there.

7/7: To conclude, the Welsh Gender Service at CAVUHB promotes resources which effectively encourage self-harm to vulnerable patients and members of the public under the guise of 'gender-affirming care'. When challenged, they provided no evidence about the efficacy of such 'care' and avoided responding to specific concerns about the dangers of breast binders. Gender medicine is not medicine and those practicing it know this.

🧵1/7: My recent interactions with the Welsh Gender Service (WGS) highlights how 'gender-affirming care' in Wales is a shady, vibes-based corner of medicine which appears to avoid scrutiny and accountability and promotes dangerous practices to vulnerable patients.....

I've seen lots of TRAs insisting that women must compromise when it comes to sharing their single-sex spaces with men. What I haven't seen is a single one of them suggesting that men should make any compromise at all.

I have perfectly designed large lockable family changing rooms in some of my clubs. I have offered these to transwomen to use but they have refused them.
Deb@pasta2909

@kateward11 @DuncanBannatyne It’s a good idea but would they want to use them? They don’t want to use disabled toilets and instead insist on going into women’s spaces.
