She meets with a team of researchers in Spain next month because they want to discuss the topic with her. To act like the process of science, learning and discovering and making connections, is something you can only do if you are given the title of “world’s top scientist and doctor” is not only smug and wrong, but dangerous, because it tells people they have no agency to learn and no power to figure things out especially when it affects the health of themselves and their family members. A true “scientist” will want to hear new information regardless of who it comes from and is humble enough to know that they themselves don’t have all the answers either.
