@Headteacherchat It’s absolutely not illegal and you can write about undermining trust and transparency and put together a staff protocol that advises it is possible they will be recorded in this manner and to act accordingly; it should not happen but equally there should be nothing to fear

Anonymous Post: I’ve just become aware that a parent recorded a meeting with staff without their knowledge or consent. As headteacher, what steps can I take in response to this? Are there any legal or procedural actions I should be aware of to protect staff and prevent this from happening again? Any advice or similar experiences would be greatly appreciated.

After such a difficult time for the church in Parliament last week, it’s a joy to be here at the National Parliamentary Prayer Breakfast. The political landscape may be challenging but there’s no questioning who we serve as 100s of us worship together here in Westminster Hall

@Headteacherchat Yep! Always be truthful and examine your metrics; SATS are not he only tool that speaks of your work, take the SDP break it into measurable and report on it as a whole document - believe on what you do

Anonymous Post: I started as head in Sept 2024 at a coasting school with a blame culture and low expectations. Ofsted rated us RI but recognised my leadership and the changes underway. Governors are supportive, but phonics results are only 71% despite a new scheme and big shifts across school. KS1 results are also low, and I'm worried we’ll lose more pupils when the Ofsted report goes public. I'm dreading how to present this to governors. I feel exhausted and overwhelmed. Has anyone been in a similar position?

Absolutely devastating vote on assisted suicide. In supporting Kim Leadbeater's assisted suicide law MPs have failed to stop a dangerous, unworkable and immoral policy. This law will undermine the value of life and place vulnerable people at greater risk.

Assisted suicide has existed for years in the UK, not the source of that assurance has changed but not in a way the white Christian men who made the law like. You had your time

@norchcity @nothingmadeup Completely agree. I don't know any profession where you aren't allowed to follow your own professional development and knowledge and expertise but instead be told you are incapable because you didn't use the correct colour pen.

We live in fascinating and changing times. For many years we lived with laws based on the Christian story but declining church attendance. Now the church is growing but our politicians are hell bent on severing our laws from their roots. We labour on in weakness and rejoicing.
