@notille @MsMaiaMarsh It's counterintuitive isn't it? But it's a Parsi name (seriously, Google the Italias) and was originally Ita-walla (lit. brick seller, prob more like Mason).

I would make a good girlfriend: I'm affectionate, easygoing, kind and enjoy sex. (@MsMaiaMarsh can confirm the first 3.) I ask only that the guy is intelligent, fit(ish) & has his shit together. But I've been unable to find a long-term prospect in over a year now. Help!

@freedlander @NYMag Just curious: which cities have tried to become more affordable and suffered for trying? You wrote there were some but didn’t name.

From day one, the promise—and the business proposition—of @TheFP was simple: We would marry the quality of the old world to the freedom of the new. We would seek the truth and tell it plainly. And we would treat readers like adults capable of making their own choices. So many people told us this was no longer possible. That the premise of a media company built on trust rather than partisanship was, at best, a relic from the past—and, at worst, a fantasy that never was. That the internet killed journalism. That there simply weren’t enough Americans out there in search of media driven by honesty, independence, and integrity. Our readers proved them wrong. Our subscribers demonstrated that there’s a market for honest journalism. And they’ve given us a mandate to pursue that mission from an even bigger platform. thefp.com/p/the-future-o…

@JustinCChang Amid your meditations on stardom, intention, etc you forgot to say what a bad movie this is.

Of the two new movies in which a film-industry father seeks to reconcile with his two neglected daughters, I'm a bit surprised to find myself preferring the honest schmaltz of JAY KELLY to the coy self-satisfaction of SENTIMENTAL VALUE. newyorker.com/magazine/2025/…

The Phillies scored more runs.
The Phillies had more hits.
The Phillies hit more homers.
The Phillies struck out fewer times.
The Phillies drew more walks.
The Phillies stole more bases.   Baseball is so cruel.

Not since the Civil War have so many Americans been fighting other Americans. That is the legacy of Donald J. Trump. He sewed hate. He relentlessly lied. He divided a nation.

Charlie Kirk’s assassin Tyler Robinson, 22, killed him because he hated his opinions and thought he was a fascist. Yet ironically, HE was the fascist, killing someone to silence their opposing views. The woke left love to say ‘speech is violent.’ It’s not - violence is.

if you're Catholic, it's just silly to parade around on Ash Wednesday with a large, dark charcoal cross on your forehead proclaiming how devout you are; & implying that those who are not parading around with a cross on their foreheads are less devout than you. a subtle sort of smudge is considered quite enough.
(((Orchid)))🌻@OrchidNYC

@JoyceCarolOates It's supposed to be kept on but it's odd that it looks so big and dark, no smudges. But he may be going through some hard times, and the sign comforts him.

It's interesting to see how gender in aesthetics is constantly a moving target. Will explain how four outfits from today's Todd Snyder FW25 show were once considered very masculine, but now may not because men perform disinterest in clothes. 🧵

@dieworkwear When did male fashion like this first image become so emasculating?

@StevieVanZandt Mr. Stucazzo, if he kept doing it those half the distance to the goal line penalties would have moved the line of scrimmage to the middle of the end zone!
