Newborns might nurse every hour or even constantly at certain time of the day. This is normal behavior for a healthy baby who is gaining weight. It does not indicate that baby is not getting enough milk.

Although newborn jaundice is very common, call the doctor if: - Your baby's skin turns more yellow. - Your baby's abdomen, arms, or legs are yellow. - The whites of your baby's eyes are yellow. - Your baby is hard to wake, fussy, or not nursing or taking formula well.

It is normal to feel uncomfortable when a baby cries. Sometimes you might not be able to console her. The most important thing to remember in these situations is not to shake your baby. Shaking a baby can cause blindness, brain damage and death.
