@chiragbarjatya @CoolStar0107 I have no opinions but I've been drinking alone for about 10 years now. Had friends in college and until my 22s but then we all moved on. I like playing games and enjoying a few drinks.

@CoolStar0107 Drinking alone is a sign of something serious. And army people don’t drink the way people think they drink. Most of them are high functioning people

> Spotify should provide an API to its song library and I should be able to vibe code my own frontend Incredibly funny posting this on this app lol
Kenton Varda@KentonVarda

Spotify has an "AI DJ". It's not bad at picking songs, but every now and then a fucking AI voice comes on, imitating a radio DJ, and TALKS about the last song and next song, trying to sound cool or something. WHY would ANYONE want that? Sure enough, there's been an open "Live Idea" on the Spotify community for THREE YEARS suggesting adding a way to turn off the stupid voice: community.spotify.com/t5/Live-Ideas/… There are 41 pages of people complaining about the voice. Yet apparently, this is not enough to get Spotify to add an option to turn off the voice. Nobody can do anything about it. What are you gonna do, switch to YouTube Music? LOL. Sorry, you're stuck with whatever the Spotify PMs decided your experience should be. Deal with it. It's time to burn it all down. Spotify should provide an API to its song library and I should be able to vibe code my own frontend that works the way I want. Maybe Spotify provides a template to get started, and then I prompt my AI to make any change I want. Like "remove the idiotic DJ voice". Can't come soon enough.

@championswimmer @mitsuhiko It's really great because now it's easier to tell who's simply copy pasting questions to AI and lacks fundamental understanding of the problem they're addressing. But yeah, those are the same people that take a while to understand why it's not right even if it works.

@mitsuhiko Happening at work too. Have to force people to submit just their problem rather than solution. People are eager to submit solutions because it easy to do it (which earlier they couldn't). It is even harder to convince them the solution is 'not right' now because 'it works'

I did 10 calls with people now that shared their agentic coding experience. 7/10 reported non engineers vibeslopping code up. Majority said they moved to re-prompt all those contributions because it became impossible/too time consuming to work with the those PRs.

@fooobar FAANG companies do not work like any other company. They have no dress code, no regular timings. They focus on keeping the employee happy as that is when their output would be of highest quality. They follow Spiral SDLC Model.

@DecentCloud_org @brankopetric00 That's why it's called "markup". Just like "server less" doesn't mean there's no server, it just means you don't have to worry about it for a premium

@npsoni88 @brankopetric00 Same packets. AWS charges $0.09/GB egress. Wholesale bandwidth is $0.005-0.01 per GB. The markup isn't covering infrastructure.

Data transfer costs are AWS's way of reminding you that moving your own data between your own services in your own account is a privilege, not a right.

DevOps isn’t just about automation. It’s about reducing panic. It’s about: - making deploys boring - making failures predictable - limiting blast radius - restarting things automatically - and writing postmortems, no one wants to write again

Cloud engineers who actually pay the bills - how many of these do you actively design around / optimize for (not just read the docs once)? 1. Spot / preemptible instance chaos engineering 2. Multi-cloud egress cost traps 3. Karpenter / Cluster Autoscaler tuning wars 4. Istio ambient mode vs sidecar tax 5. eBPF alternatives to traditional agents 6. Graviton / ARM cost + perf wins (and gotchas) 7. WAF rule bypass creativity 8. Serverless cold starts at 99.99th percentile 9. Cross-account IAM policy explosion 10. FinOps attribution at 1000+ microservices scale 8+/10? You are probably the one writing the cost-optimisation RFCs.

Most developers use the terminal. Few truly understand it. Let’s see 👇 1️⃣ What exactly is a REPL? 2️⃣ Which commands do you use every single day? 3️⃣ Do you use aliases… or are you typing everything like it’s 2015? Drop your answers below 👇 Let’s see who’s really living in the terminal. #DevOps #Linux #Cloud #Terminal #ksops
