@ntukym @itvpeston @TiceRichard The £5m 'gift' was a clear bribe. A bribe to corrupt our democracy! And then there's the £1m bribe each that Fartage and Spaffer took - again to corrupt our democracy.

🚨 This is incredible. The Tories have AGAIN jumped into bed with the Greens to block Reform and common sense from power. They’ve worked with the Greens to block EVERY Reform nomination to the management committee on Bradford Council, despite Reform having the biggest democratic mandate. The Greens now control the Staffing and Regulatory Committees. They spent 14 years running open borders and sky high taxes because that is who they are. The poor voters of Bradford have been stitched up again. This is why the Tory Party must be destroyed.

@JohnRushforth1 @Wrexham_Red @ZiaYusufUK There's obviously more to the story. He was deselected by the Labour Party ahead of the 2026 local elections due to what the local party deemed a "lack of political judgement" during a by-election campaign although he's disputed that.

@Wrexham_Red @ntukym @ZiaYusufUK I picked a name at random: Peter Curling, deselected by Labour for the 2026 elections. Why? He’s 74 and disabled, and the party decided it was time for younger candidates. Sounds reasonable to me. Pick a random name from my list and report back.

@JohnRushforth1 @ZiaYusufUK Here's at least 200+ Labour councillors resigned/kicked out/suspended/defected. And 5 disqualified. Not sure why you're putting out laughing emojis. Do you think that's funny?

@JohnRushforth1 @ZiaYusufUK Perhaps you can explain the following statistics on Labour councillors since 2025: # Resigned/kicked out = 150+ # Disqualified = 5 # Suspended = 80+ # Defected = 54+ # Lost seat = 1500+ Seems to me it's like a drop in the ocean with Reform.

@RachelReevesMP It's either you're completely tone deaf or just don't care about the long term economic damage you're doing to the country. But then again, what can I expect from an incompetent chancellor who's lied about her CV.

Growth higher than forecast, borrowing down, and now inflation falling further than expected. This Labour government has the right economic plan.

God this is just a whole tirade of ignorance and nonsense from Marina Purkiss. Imagine saying that joining the CPTPP makes the UK a rule taker - the CPTPP is a trade deal, not a political union! It doesn't have its own Parliament as it doesn't need one, as it isn't writing laws.

For Westminster, this is a good summary of what people are saying on the doors in Makerfield. From a constituent of mine on a Reform page: "I'll probably get slated for this especially in this forum but hear me out. I've spent my whole adult life wishing that someone like me, from a working class background and from the North was leading our country. All I've seen in my lifetime is public school boys telling me how things are and to be honest, coming from a family of little to no wealth, it makes my blood boil. To have the chance of a prime minister who is born and bred in my neck of the woods. Understands the environment I grew up in if nothing else. And, more so, has a chance to take that top job and maybe, just maybe, make decisions that make a difference to people like me. That's what @AndyBurnhamGM represents for me. This feels like a one time in a generation chance to get someone in who isn't part of the establishment and may do things differently than has been done before. If people vote Reform, it won't put them in power. If they won it would merely be something to brag about but wouldn't make any fundamental difference to mine or your way of life. Alteratively, if Andy wins, it's likely he'll become our new prime minister and maybe, just maybe, we'll feel the difference. If not, vote Reform in the next general election and I'll join you. Peace out 📷"

@Nigel_Farage @barrienunn21 It literally says at the top of the story, "Mr Farage had already passed proof of funds and the relevant checks before receiving the gift. The purchase was therefore already proceeding independently of it." So how did they not publish it?

This is fake news by the establishment media who will do anything to hurt Reform as we challenge their cosy consensus. I had passed proof-of-funds and the relevant checks before receiving the gift. Sky News did not publish that part of our statement despite knowing the truth.

Basically what people must conclude from this HMRC decision, if it indeed is an HMRC decision, is that if you're confused about how much tax to pay, you shouldn't seek professional advice. You should just pay the lowest amount and hope that it all works out OK, knowing that if it doesn't then you won't have to pay any penalty.

Labour Tax Expert Dan Neidle Says HMRC’s Exoneration of Rayner Is ‘Generous’ and ‘Hard to Understand’ order-order.com/2026/05/14/lab…

@AngelaRayner You resigned bcos you were found to have broken the ministerial code. You obviously didn't take reasonable care bcos you were told by expert to seek further specialist advice to make sure correct tax was paid. You still didn't pay the correct tax as the Housing Sec until now.

Angela Rayner@AngelaRayner·
I welcome HMRC’s conclusion, which has cleared me of any wrongdoing. I have been exonerated by HMRC of the accusation that I deliberately sought to avoid tax. When purchasing a home of my own with a mortgage, I did not own any other property and had no personal financial interest in the court-instructed trust set up to manage my son’s financial award. I was advised by experts that I should pay stamp duty at the standard rate. I set out to pay the correct amount of tax. I took reasonable care and acted in good faith, based on the expert advice I received, and HMRC has accepted this. I have always sought to act with integrity, and I believe politicians should be held to high standards - that is why I resigned from government and cooperated fully with HMRC.  I wanted to ensure that I paid every penny that I owed, and have done so. I am relieved that my family can now move on - and that I can get on with my job.

@JuliaHB1 And let's face it, the HMRC waited until after the local elections to conclude the investigation.

How on earth has Angela Rayner been "cleared" by HMRC? She didn't pay the extra £40,000 stamp duty that was due. She didn't take the specialist tax advice on her flat purchase that she was advised to take. She failed to pay the extra stamp duty that she, as Housing Secretary, had brought in for second home purchasers. For HMRC not to issue a fine means they judged her decision as "reasonable care" having been taken, or it was possibly "careless", but not a "deliberate" underpayment. She clearly did not take "reasonable care" to ensure her tax was correct. And if it was "careless", it was *deliberate* carelessness. Do you seriously think that if YOU underpaid your taxes by £40,000 as the then Deputy Prime Minister did, that you would get away without a fine? Sorry, but this stinks.
Pippa Crerar@PippaCrerar

EXCL: Angela Rayner has been cleared by HMRC of deliberate wrongdoing or carelessness over her tax affairs, paving the way for a potential leadership bid if Keir Starmer’s grip on power unravels. The former DPM has settled £40,000 in unpaid stamp duty, but has not paid any penalty as a result of the investigation. HMRC was also satisfied there was no tax avoidance. Rayner tells me she was “bruised” by whole experience because of intrusion into her disabled son’s personal life, but also because it had appeared as though she was “in it for myself” rather than on the side of ordinary people. Rayner indicated she may run in event of a contest as she would “play my part” and that she understood why Labour MPs were so upset following last week’s election crushing. She said Starmer should “reflect on” stepping aside.

This coming from a government source. A less supportive assessment of cabinet meeting “Keir said in Cabinet that he wouldn't discuss the elections or his leadership, and that he will only speak to cabinet ministers about that individually. Then after the meeting he refused to see Cabinet ministers individually”

The supreme art of war is to subdue the enemy without fighting. Reform wants Labour MPs to remove the Prime Minister. Because they know that they will be able to call for a General Election with credibility - the same credibility that we had when we called for a General Election every time the last Gov did this. Stability is key.

Vote Reform all you want… Just know what you’re voting for as this is what they support: 🔥 Fire & rehire - your boss can sack you and hire you back on LESS pay. Reform wants to keep this legal 🏥 The NHS - are you wanting to pay health insurance every month? Farage literally said he’s open to replacing it with an insurance-based model Please just pause & think.
