@SuellaBraverman @RobertJenrick @reformparty_uk British taxpayers shouldn’t be subsidising foreign students while our own kids face sky-high fees, debt, and limited places. Universities have turned into visa factories, time to end the scam and put British students first. Reform’s got this right. 🇬🇧

Too many universities are selling immigration, not education. Last year, about 250,000 foreign students took up taxpayer-funded student loans to pay for their courses in the UK, worth £4bn. This is not fair. A @reformparty_uk government will make sure that the British taxpayer is not paying for foreign students. Let’s put British students first.

@instablog9ja This is totally irrational suggestion- feeding the households, house rent and school fees are solely responsibility of husband not to be sharing or cutting . Except if the woman just willingly to show support but not demanding from so-called husband .

IBADAN DECLARATION Communiqué issued at the end of Opposition Political Parties National Summit held on Saturday April 25, 2026 in Ibadan, Oyo State. Participating Opposition Parties in Nigeria, after an extensive deliberation on the collective threats that we face and the existential challenges facing our country under the stranglehold of the oppressive and anti-democratic All Progressives Congress (APC) and given the need for urgent, collective action to rescue our nation and the destiny of over 200 million compatriots, hereby resolve as follows: 1. That we shall resist all machinations by the APC to foist a one-party State on Nigeria and fight for the survival of multi-party democracy in our country. 2. That despite the onslaughts and manoeuvrings of the ruling party, the APC to impose President Bola Tinubu as the sole Presidential candidate in 2027; we shall field candidates and contest the 2027 Presidential and other elections. 3. That we shall work towards fielding one Presidential Candidate for the 2027 elections, which shall be agreed and supported by all participating opposition parties to rescue our nation and her long suffering masses. 4. That the INEC Chairman, Prof. Joash Ojo Amupitan, having shown bias and partisanship in favour of the ruling APC, should not conduct the 2027 general elections as Nigerians across board have lost confidence in him and his capacity to guarantee the required neutrality to deliver free, fair, transparent and credible elections. His continuous stay in office is vexatious and capable of triggering wide spread crisis in our nation. 5. That the National Assembly should immediately review the Electoral Act, 2026 to remove all sections that threaten the sanctity and integrity of the elections and run counter to constitutional provisions. 6. That all leading politicians that are being detained or harassed on bailable offfences be released with immediate effect and allowed to exercise their fundamental rights of participation and inclusivity as Nigerians. 7. That we consider the recent guidelines released by the INEC as obstacles, deliberately engineered to impose conditions and deadlines on the opposition parties. We therefore demand that INEC extends the deadline for primaries till the end of July, 2026. 8. The Summit commends Nigerians for their resilience and readiness to work with Opposition Parties to free our nation from State capture. 9. The National summit of Opposition Political Parties thank the Oyo State Governor Engr. Seyi Makinde and the people of Oyo State for hosting the epochal event. SIGNED: Chairmen of Participating Opposition Parties.

My friend in the UK called me today and offered to fly me out. Visa money, flight money, everything covered. I said no. He told me there was no plan waiting for me there but that I could find a cleaning job or "at least escape Nigeria." I told him to send the money instead so I could put it into a business here. He was disappointed. That's his business. I have zero interest in relocating abroad without a plan. I am not leaving Nigeria to go and clean toilets in the UK because someone wants me to feel like I have arrived. That is not an upgrade. That is a relocation of suffering. I want to be established here, build something real, and then travel abroad on vacation as a man with options. Not as someone who fled. The only reason I would ever consider relocating is to make serious money, and even then, it must be a concrete plan. Not a cleaning job. Not a "you'll figure it out." Not a one-way ticket to survival mode in someone else's country. Japa without a plan is just poverty with a foreign accent. Nigeria has my frustrations but it also has my vision. I am staying. Above all, love God.

A guy and his wife both came to the UK via the study route in 2023. The wife was the student while he worked. I met him through someone he accommodated and the 3 of us became like friends. His father was the one who funded most of the money they used to secure the admission, CAS, run POF and book their flight, even though it’s a polygamous family. You know how much of a family issue this could be, yeah? The man didn’t care. He was just happy that at least one of his children is about to go to the UK. Anyway, on one of those days while he and I talked at a warehouse I used to work back in ‘23, he said something along the lines that this country (The UK) was just taking our money bla bla bla and that he didn’t even think the Master’s was worth it, hence, he was considering not paying the remaining fees (they had paid half before leaving Nigeria). His grand plan was to start the process of relocating to another country with all the money they make here while postponing the payment of school fees and when the plan eventually succeeds, leave the UK to that country. I strongly advised him against this and the conversation ended there and then! Around January/February ‘24, he told me he was working on opening a travel agency in Nigeria and had spent so much on opening the office and setting up things. I was so happy for him even though he and I had discussed investing in Nigeria in the past to which I had argued against. Anyway, around March/April, he told me he was travelling to Nigeria to go see all he had spent so much on and probably bring his child to the UK. And that was the last time I ever heard from him! Every single message I have dropped him since then has been ignored till date. And I haven’t for once bumped into him on the high street or at Aldi or anywhere else ever since. The wife on the other hand, reached out to me around June/July of the same year for a loan she claimed her husband would refund when he gets back. I couldn’t help then as I was broke. But every single time I bumped into her after that time (and this has been countless) and ask about her husband, she’s always saying “won wa” - he’s fine. Recently, I called our mutual friend and specifically asked about our guy and he told me he couldn’t talk about that where he was then and promised to call back. On Sunday, he called back and omooooooooo

My father and his three brothers had a burial to attend yesterday. My father is the eldest, so they all had to go together because the man being buried was related to them. They each contributed ₦20,000. Everyone paid, but that amount didn’t include the cost of the food they would take along. My mother was the one who cooked the food. Before they left, I told them they should also add money for the food to what they were contributing. The last born’s facial expression changed immediately, and he didn’t say a word to me. I even followed them to the burial, and when we came back, he still didn’t talk to me.

@ummuh_Zahra A negative emotional bank will always destroy any strong marriage. No man can fill emotional bank that is in the negative. This is something every man should consider- a help meet that is an emotional liability is Never a help meet.

When I left my marriage, the first question people asked was: “Did he cheat?” I said no. They looked confused. “So why leave a good man?” Yes, he was a good man. He didn’t cheat. He didn’t hit me. He provided. He came home every night. But I was slowly disappearing. I would talk, and he wouldn’t hear me. I would cry, and he’d say, “You’re too emotional.” I needed comfort and got silence. There were nights I was unwell, restless, struggling beside him, and he never noticed. Not even a simple “Are you okay?” I started asking myself: “If something happens to me here, will he even know?” One day I told him, half-joking but serious: “My fear is that I could be dying, and you wouldn’t notice.” He laughed. But I meant every word. That’s when it hit me: A man can be good and still be emotionally absent. I didn’t leave because he was bad. I left because I felt alone in a place that was supposed to feel like home. So tell me: Is presence more important than provision in marriage? And if you were in her shoes, how long would you stay? 💭 Cc: chinyere charity

A Deacon who lives next to me was asked to pay 5 million naira by a university girl he had been secretly sleeping with for years, and instead of paying, he told her point blank, “I will face the shame. Go ahead and report me.” What made it more shocking for me is that I used to hear him pray loudly and speak in tongues almost every morning. The girl is now a 400 level student, but she claimed the relationship started when she first came to Abuja in 100 level.

The church I attend here in the UK: Service starts at 10AM. Ends at 11AM. Exactly. No offertory. Not even once. If you wish to give, do so secretly after service. The pastor speaks like he is having a conversation with you. I sat there the first time genuinely waiting for the part where things pick up...like speaking in tongues, dancing during praise, loud clapping to break chains etc. The pastor even prayed for people individually. Nobody fell. I'm still not sure if I've been delivered or if I'm missing something. 😭🚶🏾‍♀️

One of my team members in church pulled me aside after service last Sunday. We sat inside his car in the church compound. The brother was looking confused and restless. He kept sighing before opening up. He works in one of these big multinational companies in Lagos. Two years ago, the company sponsored him for a big international training in Germany, fully paid, five weeks, with top certificates from a prestigious institute. That training really boosted his profile. He started handling bigger projects, got promoted, and even his bosses now respect him well. But last week, a recruiter from another multinational reached out to him on LinkedIn. The offer is very sweet, almost 40% more salary, better allowances, and a bigger title. He told his wife and she is already excited. Darling, this is God answering our prayers. Take it! But he is not happy. He is seriously confused. He keeps saying the company that sponsored his training in Germany did not send him there so he can use the certificate to jump ship. That it will look like ingratitude. What if they hear about it? What if the new company is just using him and later dumps him? He even said, This current job gave me the name I’m carrying today. Should I just leave like that? Now he is not sleeping well. The recruiter is putting pressure on him to send his documents fast before the offer closes. His wife is on his neck. His mind is telling him to go for the money, but his heart is saying stay loyal. He looked at me with tired eyes and asked: Is better salary worth the risk of looking ungrateful?
