@gbrennan @MattP1Gallagher Yep. It's American style short form - quick gratification- TikTok style. 3 second highlight of a car with 5 hp getting overtaken by a car with 1,000. quick highlight, and then nothing. The long game, tactics, strategy, risky manoeuvres and genuine racing is gone.

@MattP1Gallagher It’s Drive to Survive/American fan nonsense. It’s fine to have strategy, but viewers can see tyre allocation and where DRS stretches came into play. Boost just puts fans in the dark. I used to enjoy strategy playing out, now we will have no idea when the button will be pressed.

@ucxtb244 @cytrusf1 Yep. Overtakes by simply just a ridiculous different in power output, not driver skill or anything. 3 second highlights, not an exciting race. Bit like everything in the world atm, short quick gratification.

@cytrusf1 Literally it felt like an Ai race. Push to pass fake overtakes for the first 10 laps. All about the battery, and once the field spread the action was diabolically shit.

The race was interesting, but the number of position changes doesn't mean that the racing is great Feels like they are driving with assists on and it sucks But hey, at least the highlights video will be decent Genuinely don't know what to think

@cytrusf1 Yeah. More overtakes but simply because the defending car has 3 hp. Not really that exciting.

@TheCelticCuler @verstappenews Yeah the Red Bull definitely has a good Hybrid system going. I think some improvements + Max getting better and better in the car we will be competitive. The gap to Merc will close quickly I think. A lot of teams will learn a lot today.

@verstappenews The engine looks solid, and that was our main worry coming into the 2026 regs. I don’t know if we’ll be able to fight for wins on a regular basis this season, but a win snatched here and there is not out of the question

Honestly, with how things could have gone, I'm super happy with today. Car does have pace, but there's a lot of improvement to be made. Will be very interesting to see how this season develops.

@verstappenews It's a good car. Obviously the Merc is head and shoulders clear but Red Bull have shown they can develop a car, and with Max at the helm they are in a good spot. I'm pretty confident particularly after June 1 we will be right in the thick of it winning races.

Australians will never accept guns. As a law abiding Australian farmer and firearms user, I know that further restricting gun rights (we actually dont have any rights, we have 'exemptions' to possess prohibited weapons) will not solve our terrorism problem. I know that if we had more 'good guys with guns' Bondi would have ended much sooner. I would not have hesitated to put myself on the line and shoot back (it's a moral obligation if you are trained and armed) but I would also never take my rifle to the beach so I'd never have the opportunity. If you try to roll out safe, well trained and well armed gun culture to everyday Australians (like Texas), Im afraid all you'll get is mass accidents. Our population has been infantalised for so many generations, I'm not even sure we would function for 1 week in a USA style 'government shutdown'... we really on government so much. It's now in our bones. We just rejected castle law (defend your home) and despite knowing cops either aren't coming or might be here in 2 HOURS, we still think the *right* thing to do is always to call the cops, then hide and wait. Our population is entirely urbanised and never sees guns. We think guns magically leap off the table and explosively massacre everyone in the room. They are magical, dangerous 'weapons of mass destruction' (Premier of NSW) to nearly all of us. My plan is to simply minimise city trips and mass gatherings, stay rural as much as possible. At least everyone out here is less neurotic and doesn't call the cops in a panic when they see a dead deer on the road (yes happened recently).

@OMGTheMess Because addressing a root cause issue that is mass migration of people not sharing Aussie ideology would require some critical thinking and responsibility from our government and that is just not possible. So further persecution to law abiding citizens is the easy thing to do.

@MickamiousG Knee jerk reaction instead of addressing real, systemic issues that would not be politically correct or suit their vote-import agenda. Go for the law abiding citizens that own firearms based on the actions of an extremist terrorist who migrated here.

@Real_King_Elvis Exactly right. They have to do something and they go for low hanging fruit and that is law abiding gun owners. Instead of some critical thinking, looking in the mirror, and addressing the real issues. That would be too hard.

We can never win the gun debate in Australia. When we have no mass shootings, it is used as evidence that our gun control laws work. When we have mass shootings they push the narrative that we need even stricter laws. We now have more guns in Australia than before Port Arthur. Criminals now have even greater access to guns with 3D printing supplementing the black market. Shootings with illegal guns occur on a regular basis. The only people being disarmed by these laws are laws abiding citizens. It's a no-win situation. The only solution is educating the public on the truth.

🚨BREAKING: NSW Police Commissioner Mal Lanyon has issued a formal correction, saying Bondi attacker Sajid Akram applied for a firearms licence on 8 October 2015 but it lapsed in 2016 after no photo was taken. A second application in 2020 was later approved and issued in 2023.

@ohfarfoxache @MickamiousG @ASIOGovAu @nswpolice If you or anyone in your family has any relation, connection, or suspicion of terrorist activity, firearms should be revoked. I guarantee you every single law abiding firearms owner in Australia would agree to this. Because it won't affect them.

@MickamiousG @ASIOGovAu @nswpolice Depends like the father shouldn't be disadvantaged for the actions of his son. only if the father was of interest to ASIO but also, if they strip the license they might tip off that ASSIO is watching them (but obviously in this case ASIO was not watching them)

Quite astonishing. Sajid got his gun license approved after applying back in 2023 AFTER his son, Naveed was on a watch list for ASIO and determined to be a 'Low Level Risk' @ASIOGovAu You Have Blood On Your Hands @nswpolice You Also Have Blood On Your Hands What a DISGRACE

@Daisy1158 @AmeliaBee7 @AlboMP People don't live in Sydney suburbs but own farms / rural properties ? Lol. Stop with the knee jerk reaction to go after our very high standard gun laws and address the root cause ; unlimited immigration of a violent, non-assimilating populous.

@AmeliaBee7 @AlboMP As far as I’m concerned, no civilians in cities need guns! Farmers may have legitimate reasons, but city dwellers don’t! Get rid of “gun clubs”, they serve no purpose!

The mass murderers in Australia had six licensed guns but apparently only used two in the attack. So tell me how reducing the number of lawfully owned guns for licensees will stop the next mass murder?
The Daily Telegraph@dailytelegraph

#BREAKING: People with firearm licenses will have the number of guns they’re allowed to keep reduced, Anthony Albanese has confirmed. The Prime Minister said the proposal will be put to state and territory leaders at Monday afternoon’s national cabinet meeting, and urged support. DETAILS: bit.ly/4j34QtE
