Senator Scott Mottley did not hold back in today's 2026 Senate Budget presentation. She reminded the chamber that for decades, Cuba was more than just a diplomatic partner Cuban medical personnel were on the ground in Jamaica's hospitals, rural clinics, and underserved communities, filling staffing gaps that the local system simply could not cover on its own. They contributed to specialised care, including eye services, and even kept medical equipment running. That programme is now gone. JLP Cllr Rosalie made some alarming statements about the incumbent JLP MP. What stands out is her admission that she migrated. It raises a bigger issue I’ve noticed: many teachers, nurses, police who migrated are JLP supporters. If the JLP is doing such a great job, why leave?
