The NYT just profiled Medvi as the AI success story of the decade. $1.8B in projected revenue, 2 employees, Sam Altman's prediction made real. Here's what the NYT didn't lead with. Medvi received FDA Warning Letter #721455 in February 2026 for misbranding violations. Their clinician network OpenLoop suffered a data breach in January 2026 that exposed 1.6 million patient records. Futurism reported they used AI-generated deepfake before-and-after photos in their marketing. A class action lawsuit was filed in Delaware in November 2025. And now they're running 800+ fake doctor accounts on Facebook to sell compounded GLP-1s. The company holds no proprietary technology, no licensed physician network, no pharmacy infrastructure. It outsources every regulated function to CareValidate and OpenLoop while keeping the customer relationship, checkout flow, and ad spend. The entire business is a marketing layer on top of rented infrastructure, and the marketing itself is built on fabricated medical credentials. Hims did $2.4B in revenue last year with 2,442 employees and a 5.5% net margin. Medvi claims 16.2% net margin with 2 people. The margin difference tells you where the compliance spending went. The AI built the website. The AI runs customer service. The AI generated the deepfake before-and-afters. And now 800+ fake doctor accounts are running paid ads on Facebook. The entire company is an AI-powered fraud machine that happens to also sell real drugs.

I think I was wrong about the future. I thought it would be senior engineers commanding an army of AI agents and shipping what 100 mid-level engineers used to ship, and doing so in half the time. It is sadly looking like it is going to be senior engineers training interns with virtually no experience to command an army of AI agents shipping what 10 junior-level engineers used to ship, and in double the time. India wins again.

The amount of FUD on this platform is crazy! I’m becoming convinced that a good major majority of the population are scam artists.

But your $3k mortgage also comes with lawn care, security service, housekeeper, pest control, large water bill, expensive homeowner insurance, expensive utilities, expensive property taxes, etc. I calculated that my house actually costs me $60k/year. I’d be much better off selling the place, putting the equity and the extra monthly cash it would free up in brokerage account. That account would be much more valuable than the increased equity ever would.

Just realized something that honestly made me stop for a second… $2,000 rent a month. That’s $24,000 a year. Stay there 5 years… that’s $120,000. Gone. No ownership. No asset. Nothing to show for it. Just paid to exist somewhere. That’s actually insane when you really think about it.

Tech companies pay millions of dollars for their employees and then stick them in open-plan offices that make it nearly impossible to get work done. Best strategy for poaching employees is probably to just offer them an office with a door.

I know it shouldn’t matter, but when I find a seemingly interesting repo/project, I immediately look at the language and if it’s Python I don’t star it, I don’t follow it, I move on. Py may be the language of ML, but TS is the language of applied AI.
