@wayofftheres Out in Oregon Albertson's always puts their stores in locations without a lot of competition, and near apartment complexes. Always feel like they have the highest prices paired with the worst quality.

Indicators- just out grocery shopping, at the middle ground grocery store, Albertsons. Not Whole Foods, but I am paying something if a premium for nice floors and the BSU stadium. So not Winco either. I was shocked to find Sprite at 11.79 per 12 pack, nearly $1 per can. A lot of premium meat cuts ( ribeye, etc) in the near expired clearance rack, and the big sales on the rest. Extended to things like the top grade of olive oil, Gucci crackers, and the higher end ice cream. We already pay a premium for fuel, being one of the major cities near the end of civilization. On a good day it’s $1 more per gallon than the Midwest, sitting around $4.39 right now for the cheapest blend. I’d also like to point out, Albertsons doesn’t suck at business. 2nd largest grocery chain in the US, and they started here in Boise. They have been on a roll of winning for decades. I see this as something of the canary in the coal mine, how’s it look in your area?

With due respect, this is a clear misinterpretation of data. 𝗜𝗠𝗚𝘀 𝗱𝗶𝗱 𝗡𝗢𝗧 “𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗮𝗹” 𝘀𝗽𝗼𝘁𝘀 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗨.𝗦. 𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗱𝘂𝗮𝘁𝗲𝘀. King Edward’s ~150 matches are not from a single batch. These are spread across 5–6 graduating classes, as many IMGs apply years after graduation. Pakistan is among the top IMG contributors to the U.S., alongside the Caribbean and India. Similar trends exist with graduates from Mexico, the Philippines, and others. Now the reality: Visit community hospitals across NYC, Chicago, Philadelphia, Baltimore, Brookdale, BronxCare, Interfaith, Lincoln, and many more. You will find minimal to no U.S. graduates in specialties like: ✅ Internal Medicine ✅ Family Medicine ✅ Pediatrics These are essential, underserved settings. If IMGs don’t step in, millions of patients lose access to care. As for IMGs in competitive specialties: They are exceptional candidates, MD/PhDs, strong research backgrounds, top scores. They earn those positions on merit. Let’s be clear: This is not about “taking spots.” This is about filling critical gaps in the healthcare system. Stop misrepresenting the data. #Match2026 #MedTwitter #MedEd #Matchday #USMLE #SOAP2026

@elonmusk @SpaceX In close collaboration with Grok, we developed a topological depletion framework for 3D Navier–Stokes. It uses a unified vortex entropy functional (Gauss linking + Khovanov + SFT + neural proxies) to suppress supercritical stretching — achieving >1,200× enstrophy suppression in high-res simulations. Just ran a Raptor-style coaxial pulsed plume demo: vortex rings stayed perfectly bounded even in worst-case mode. Also proved unconditional global smoothness for all axisymmetric swirl flows. Happy to send the full preprint, Python code, Lean formalization, and Starship-plume simulation for Raptor/Starship engine or base-flow work.

Can use everyone’s help and signal on this. Earlier today one of my friends and an SMC family member told me about a local veteran in need. This is Claire Atwell I’m with in the picture. He is 98 years old and still in fighting shape. He is an Army Korean War veteran and also served in the Navy. His identity was stolen and his accounts have been drained as well as other fraudulent loans and things happening with the identity theft. He didn’t have much to begin with and now he is a little desperate while the AG and local police sort things out. We are taking the next couple days to raise some money for him to help until it’s straightened out. Any amount helps and it all goes to him. If you can’t help we ask you to share. He doesn’t have anyone to help him stockingmillcoffee.com/products/drive…

Let's check in on the Houston rodeo carnival and see how it went this weekend... In a surprising bit of "truth in advertising" - this is now posted on this social media page ⬇️ "The 2026 Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo carnival, running from March 2 to March 22, 2026, features extensive rides, games, and food at NRG Park. Following safety concerns, the carnival has increased security measures." #CityLife #FailedState #houston #texas #rodeo #cowboy #cowgirl #enrichment #BreadAndCircus #crime #carnival #wig #democrats

@braxton_mccoy this reminds me, one of the marines in my STA platoon was "interviewed" by CNN during the amphib feint during Desert Storm. I've looked for that footage but it doesn't seem to be online, but the reporter shoved the camera in his face as he was fully kitted up coming ashore

@Mathew_of_LWFAH If she's not a great lead cow, have you considered putting her on a PIP? Maybe a scare from HR will motivate her.

This is Bertha - and this is exactly the situation I have been struggling with. She was my first cow purchase. Bought her as a milk cow and then soon learned she was mostly past time for being a good milk cow. She’s about 14 or 15 years old. Still gives a calf each year but her time for a natural end is coming quickly. Many would take her to the sale barn, receive some money for her. It’s difficult to explain but that feels wrong - it’s not, but it feels terrible. So at this point she will likely live her life out here, she’ll serve as a lead cow (she’s really not great for that either), but she will do okay. She means a lot to me and I just don’t want to think of her at auction or otherwise being transported somewhere away from this farm. So for now, and likely until her very end, she remains here.

@6Shittalkerffs My biggest weakness as a farmer, I simply cannot bring myself to ship these old matriarchs. I’d rather shoot them in the head and slog through a week of butchery than put them in a truck and have their last days be uncertain after a lifetime of dedication to my farm.

More voter fraud as arrests lead to a special election in Frisco City, Monroe County, Alabama. Even more surprising, the ones committing the voter fraud are the people employed by the state/county themselves. We have a serious problem in our country with fraud.

I wanted to share this post from @UscgRs “It is with profound sadness that we say goodbye to our brother, AST2 Tyler Jaggers RS #1087. While conducting a helicopter medical evacuation offshore of Washington state, Tyler was seriously injured while being deployed to a large vessel. After being transported to a hospital in Victoria, Canada, it was determined by doctors that Tyler would not survive his injuries. Our brother put his life on the line for someone he had never met, as Coast Guard aircrews and rescue swimmers have done thousands of times before, answering the call so that he and his crew could save a stranger’s life. Unfortunately, Tyler lost his in the process. He gave his life in the purest act of service: trying to save another. Our work is dangerous and we accept that risk, but times like this remind us of the true cost. However, we are resolved in our noble mission and the profound courage to serve because of men like Tyler. He sacrificed his own life while embodying what our community stands for, the United States Coast Guard Helicopter Rescue Swimmer motto: “So Others May Live.” God bless you, Tyler. We honor you. We stand with your family, and all of the lives you’ve touched in your short time here with us. We will ensure that your name and sacrifice is never forgotten. Rest easy, brother, we have the watch. “These poor, plain men, dwellers upon the lonely sands of Hatteras, took their lives in their hands, and, at the most imminent risk crossed the most tumultuous sea...and all for what? That others might live to see home and friends.” -Annual Report of the U.S. Life- Saving Service 1885”
