Three women were allegedly killed by men they knew over the last four days. They all deserved better. We all do. 💔

💔Joining literally every other Australian with a conscience to call out the appalling treatment of the Biloela Family, including two small children, who were stuck in a Kafkaesque nightmare prolonged by indifference⬇️

So glad Gisèle Pelicot will publish her memoir A Hymn to Life next year. Her voice removed shame from survivors and held a mirror up to the ordinariness of male violence against women and girls, so often dismissed in a patriarchal world. “I hope to convey a message of strength and courage to all those who are subjected to difficult ordeals. May they never feel shame. And in time, may they even learn to savour life again and find peace.” ➡️ theguardian.com/books/2025/mar…

The Lilie James inquest in Australia reveals a chilling portrait of ‘coercive control and violent masculinity’ repeated across the world. The court was told it was vital boys were taught how to value a woman’s opinions and accept rejection. theguardian.com/society/2025/m…

Labor is helping some of Australia’s most vulnerable people secure their most fundamental need—a roof over their heads. That’s why we’re opening a $1 billion fund for crisis accommodation for women and children fleeing domestic violence and we’re boosting our funding of homelessness groups so we can continue our work to reduce homelessness. There is more work to do, but these announcements will make a real difference to women and children escaping family and domestic violence, and people at risk of homelessness.
