I'm a software developer (21 years) and a softball dad. My daughter is a Class of 2028 outfielder. Playing college softball has been her goal for at least 5 years. She practices 6 days a week. When most kids want a day off, she's asking me to find a field and hit her balls to the fence so she can practice robbing home runs. Her dedication honestly astounds me. Most softball athletes don't know this NCAA rule: Coaches cannot publicly comment on a recruit's posts until after she commits. So if a D1 coach likes your highlight and says nothing — that silence is intentional, not disinterest. A like from a program account is a signal. Learn to read it.

@yongfook Nobody is one shotting an app that is actually functional end to end. The youtube bros touting this a good and evil. They bring awareness to what we are doing but have helped in the over saturation by people that think they can one shot something and not really dig in.

The idea of "one shotting" an app using AI is a fugazi. If you had to describe my app and all the edge cases I have solved over the years, it would be a prompt the size of a small book, and my app isn't even that complicated. The people promoting creating a business overnight with AI are just selling a get rich quick pipedream. Those grifters are present in every cycle. AI has completely transformed how I work, but you can't push a button and make money. Doesn't work like that.

Talking to smarter folks than me, I'm convinced many of the AI folks in my timeline are full of shit. Nobody is "running 20 agents over night" and building stuff for actual users. Maybe some are building internal tools or disposable software. Maybe. But building software people like using? That doesn't get hacked on day one or blow up after the 3rd user? Nope. I don't even understand what that's supposed to look like. Do you work out a 57 pages document that perfectly describes what you want to build and then summon 14 agents and have them run wild for 6 hours? And what comes out on the other end isn't a broken pile of shit? Nope. Not buying it. PS: it may also be that I have an IQ of 82 and can't figure it out.

Day 6 building in public: warm up likes. Did anyone realize this is a thing? Warming up your followers with likes helps promote your posts and extends your reach. The algorithm loves it apparently. I built this into NXT Recruits. Before athletes post go out, it automatically likes relevant followers most recent post for you.

Your travel coach's reputation matters more than your batting average. Coaches trust coaches. If your coach has sent kids to college programs before, that phone call carries weight. Pick your team accordingly.

Great Bridge took care of business last night with a 13-3 final. I went 1-3 with a walk and a single as well as a catch in left field to contribute on both sides of the ball. The offense was clicking well from start to finish. Now the focus shifts to Deep Creek tomorrow.
