It’s pretty wild that @nyeditboard (a voluntary effort on the part of a cross-ideological group of experienced journalists) has done so much to enrich and inform local political news coverage. They’re conducting the most substantive, informative interviews of local candidates by far. Credit also goes to the candidates who’ve agreed to take part, including the ones I find dangerously crazy, misguided, ill-informed, etc.: they seem to appreciate that voters are entitled to understand what they think about issues that matter. @nyeditboard is a great illustration of how much good conscientious people working together can do.
