@DonLagreca It seems like when a team hires a coach with a championship under their belt it’s a positive but in all sports, very few coaches win championships w/ multiple teams. Why would a team that is close go for a recycled coach as opposed to an up and comer.

Just my gut feeling: the “vision” gets more shaped this summer because they will have more $ to play with. Hence, go take big swings at Marner, Ehlers, etc. while also making “hockey trades”. Lou wasn’t going to blow the whole thing up, yet. #Isles

Come July 1st, the #Isles are going to have $63.075M on the books. Figure additional 4.5M for Palmieri so let’s say $67.575M. Pending UFA’s: Reilly, DeAngelo, Skarek, Fasching, Martin Pending RFA’s: Tsyplakov, Holmstrom, Gatcomb, Dobson, Romanov, Perunovich, Boqvist With the salary cap going up to $95.5M, that will give them approximately $28M in cap space to really only have to re-sign Dobson, Holmstrom, Romanov and Tsyplakov. That’s not taking into consideration that guys like Pageau and Engvall could be moved for even more space. Point is, I know more people wanted them to sell more but they are going to have more then enough space to target better players in free agency and through trade to come back a much better team next season. Not to mention Eiserman, Ritchie and Nelson coming in the not to distant future

@AGrossNewsday If you’re going to trade Brock, there better be a bunch of trades ahead. I’m all for a complete overhaul but the day better not end with this being our deal of the day. Isles have lots of players that can’t add depth to a playoff bound team.

Noted this within this article but to repeat: Teams have been and continue to inquire about #Isles Anders Lee and Jean-Gabriel Pageau. No indication as to whether Lou Lamoriello is receptive to moving either.

@IslesDen I don't hate Lou. I think he's given away bad contracts to mid players. And I think a fresh set of eyes is needed. It's not 1993 any more. You don't win with a roster full of good but not great.

I have a question for the #Isles fans who hate Lou Lamoriello. If he trades Palmieri, Nelson and gets solid returns… Are you still going to hate him? If so, tell me why.

@IslesDen Because his time is up! He has not made LI a the destination UFAs want to come. Hate is strong… His antiquated way was fine to stabilize the Isles a few years back but it’s time for new ideas and new energy. And we are up against the cap with a team of 3rd liners.

Per #Isles media site, Noah Dobson has been activated out of LTIR. He’s expected to return to lineup vs. #NHLBruins on Thursday night. Per @PuckPedia, Mathew Barzal had been transferred from IR to LTIR, which created the necessary cap space to activate Dobson.

@IslesFix Gimme a break! The problem is very clear… Lou Lam has to go. It has always been hard to get UFA’s to come here and it’s even harder with him here. How are there so many teams with 3 or 4 legit stars and we are always against the cap with none. He is asleep at the wheel.

The lack of impact Patrick Roy has had on this roster is the thing I'm most disappointed about this season - and there are lots of options to choose from #Isles
