@PeterPiperReady that may very well be true. I am not saying he's right or wrong, but here's a truth: He knows more about baseball than fans on X.

Mets fans still raging over Steve Phillips assessment of their offseason. If he's right are you going to apologize as hard as you've raged? ps...he's not the only former GM/MLB exec that doesn't like this roster construction....

@ChrisBottaNHL problem is - you can't play Sorokin every game. Running the guy into the ground is a disservice to all he has done to carry this team all season Chris. And Rittich is frankly unreliable.

#Isles need to honor the extraordinary seasons they’ve received from Matthew Schaefer and Ilya Sorokin by playing the best possible lineups for each of these last ten games, regardless of misguided acquisitions, veteran status or anything else. What a shame it will be if stubbornness from Darche and Roy costs them a berth when the team is good enough to make it and have the invaluable playoff experience.

@SleeperMets @SleeperOrioles What’s your measurement for “better”? If it’s HRs? Pete. If it’s a more consistent quality AB? Polanco

@TheMetsX @PSLToFlushing you are talking about a not great Defensive LF. A CF that is great Defensively but who knows what the bat does. And a Rookie with no AB's in MLB. Middle of the pack to start is completley fair

@uuujason @PSLToFlushing It’s probably a little better than than but it’s def got a lot of holes - Soto defense - Benge is exciting but he’s still a rookie - Robert health plus inability to be a major league hitter vs RHP for 2 years - Tauchman health issues

@IslesDen I don't believe in "must win" games. I do believe that there are games you simply have no excuse to lose. Tonight is that game.

A massive slate tonight around the NHL, here’s the #Isles rooting guide: —TOR win vs BOS —CAR win vs MTL —PHI win vs CBJ —COL win vs PIT Simply believe we want OTT vs DET to end in 60 minutes. Most importantly though, gotta get 2-points vs Chicago at UBS Arena.

"power rankings" mean nothing on March 23rd. You won't have any idea what this Mets team is until June. Can you all relax a bit?

@PeterPiperReady and I think that would be a succesful season. This isn't a rebuild. But this has been a heavy roster turnover. And a different philosophy regarding defense and contact.

March 23rd and World Series expectations are once again the expectation for some fans...... As always, just enjoy the ride. Some think this team is better. Some don't. Be kind to each other..

@JCapGLJ Bizarre these black/white either/or stances. Meanwhile the overwhelming majority of the fanbase sees this team for what they are - not a contender but exciting to watch when they aren’t flailing around in their own end praying their goalie bails them out.

He's had stretches where he's been great. He's had stretches where he hasn't. You are chosing to only remember the good stretches. Since you argument is with Senga, they make the playoffs. They only missed by 1 game. Do you remember that game? Do you remember them getting shut out? Only having 5 hits? Against the Marlins? Blaming Pete (who again, I never was a fan of) is easier than admitting the team wasn't very good....

@uuujason And who's to say that wasn't contributed to the injury he only sustained because he had an incompetent first baseman. He did not lose it at any point during his healthy 2023. And he pitched a gem his one game in 2024. When healthy he has been money.

@F_Piombo89 impossible to answer. Does he go out his next start and forgot how to get batters out? You are making assumptions and presenting them as facts. What you have as fact is that Senga was injured. Came back healthy and couldn't get ANYONE out.

@uuujason If Senga does not get injured on a terrible throw do the Mets make the playoffs when they only missed it by a single game? Yes or no?

@F_Piombo89 again, believe what makes you feel better about 2025. But to blame the season on a bad throw by Pete is a complete overreaction. Sorry Frankie.....

@uuujason Senga was literally only injured once prior to that. He missed all of 2024. He was second in ROY voting pitching an entire season in 2023. Once again he had the lowest ERA at the time of the injury last year. He doesn't get hurt if pete makes a simple play

@F_Piombo89 again, that's projecting. Senga has a track record full of great stretches, injuries, and poor performance. Believe what works for you Frankie. Truth is - they were a bad team last year for the entire 2nd half. Bad.... Will it be better? One can hope...

@uuujason Senga who had the lowest ERA in baseball at the time of the injury does not get injured if it wasnt for that terrible throw. When you miss the playoffs by one game its easy to point this scenario out. Senga does not get hurt and the mets make the playoffs

@uuujason The missed the playoffs cause a first baseball couldn't throw the ball to first and got Senga injured

Things are trending in the wrong direction. We all knew about the elbow issue that Sean Manaea chose not to have surgery on this offseason, but now it’s starting to show. His fastball is sitting 89–91 mph, a noticeable drop from the 93–94 mph he was touching after the 2024 season when he earned that payday. That kind of dip isn’t just a stat - it’s a red flag.
