My @X timeline has started going weird again. Seeing a lot of posts I don’t have any interest in. Not sure why it’s gotten worse @elonmusk

@mvilola That’s awesome. I’ll going to steal this one. I lost my 12 and a half year old border collie earlier this year. 😢 the house hasn’t been the same since.

I built what I think is the first higher-level abstraction over /goal with codex app server. The flow is: 1. Chat with Codex about what you want 2. Invoke $ create-goals 3. It turns the conversation into a durable goal plan 4. Invoke $ complete-goals 5. Codex works through the goals one by one The cool part: the plan lives in the repo, not just the chat. So instead of relying on vibes and memory, Codex has artifacts: brief.md, goals.json, ledger.jsonl Each goal becomes the active thread goal, gets completed, written back to disk, checkpointed, then the next goal starts. i bolted this on to slop-janitor, I still haven't tried this but i'm almost certain it works - gotta sleep though, excited to try this tomorrow. link in first comment

/goal is about to shake up everyone's agentic workflows my agent coding workflow prior to /goal: - chat w/ codex to give it my intent - create plan - improve plan - implement - review experimentally, i built slop-janitor to take this to a higher level of abstraction - chat w/ codex - create a 'meta plan' of 3-6 slices - for each slice: create a plan, improve, implement, review now /goal replaces that first workflow but why not be able to define several goals? Then execute those goals sequentially

@Dimillian Didn't think to use /goal to document a whole project! Trying this now

OpenAI Codex CLI just got way more agentic. With /goal, you give it one objective and it keeps working across turns until the goal is done. Master it this weekend. Bookmark this.

@Melvin_Racing @F1 Disagree. I don't think it's dangerous to drive provided the driver can get out of the way of others and can get the car back safely. How many times do we see cars mid-race rolling into the pits with 3 wheels after a puncture.

@nzmrldev @F1 Youre right. Hes driving a compromised car that is dangerous to drive. Should of pulled over and retired instead, as the rules state.

Why Charles Leclerc was handed a 20-second time penalty post-race ‼️ The penalty was given for leaving the track “on several occasions without a justifiable reason” on the final lap in Miami ⬇️ #F1 #MiamiGP

@TauriApps has been quite nice to use. By boy did it take a few prompts to get a dragable window!

spent two hours on codex trying to solve a ridiculously hard problem walking through it one part at a time got nowhere So I spent 15 minutes working back and forth to design a verification harness (logging proxies to figure out wire protocol behavior, tests to build state and trigger messages deterministically, etc) codex ran for 30 minutes without interruption and came back with the solution which was completely unrelated to what I had been steering it to investigate issue was in a completely different area and I wouldn't have figured it out in another 6 hours back-pressure and verification are the key to solving hard problems

Codex 0.128.0 is huge, even better than a @thsottiaux reset. Codex is moving more goal oriented with a new /goal command, think Ralph loop on steroids: - /goal to set a new goal - after agent turn finishes, Codex injects a message nudging the model to pick the next concrete action, if the user doesn't type anything - goal requirements are mapped to evidence (files, test results, pr, etc.) - model can only update goal to mark things complete Also finally in version 128, "codex update" is supported 🎉
Codex Releases@CodexReleases

Codex 0.128.0 is released. Highlights: - Persisted /goal workflows with TUI controls to create, pause, resume, and clear - Permission profiles expanded with built-in defaults; --full-auto deprecated - Plugin workflows: marketplace install, remote bundle caching, remote uninstall Complete details in thread ↓

/goal also lands in Codex CLI 0.128.0. Our take on the Ralph loop: keep a goal alive across turns. Don't stop until it's achieved. Built by my co-worker and OpenAI mentor Eric Traut, aka the Pyright guy. One of the GOATs I get to work with daily.
