How Conservative is Jake Merrick?
Jake Merrick is gaining popularity in the Oklahoma Governor 2026 Republican primary, especially among Christian conservative and America First voters looking for a candidate focused on principle over politics.
🔹 Background
Merrick is a former Oklahoma State Senator for District 22 (2021–2022). He is a seminary graduate with a Master of Divinity, former pastor, college professor, business owner, radio host, and adoptive father. His campaign centers heavily on faith, family, and Christian conservative values.
🔹 Strong America First / Conservative Positions
Merrick stands out as one of the strongest social conservatives in the race:
• Abortion: Self-described abortion abolitionist supporting a total abortion ban from conception with no exceptions.
• Social Issues: Authored legislation restricting transgender students from opposite-sex school restrooms and blocking vaccine mandates from state agencies. Strong supporter of parental rights, homeschooling, religious liberty, and traditional family values.
• Second Amendment: Supports expanding gun rights and takes a strong constitutionalist position on firearms.
• Limited Government / America First: Advocates reducing bureaucracy, cutting taxes and spending, ending foreign ownership of Oklahoma land, protecting private property rights, and limiting lobbyist influence. His campaign is heavily grassroots-driven.
• Energy & Economy: Strong supporter of oil, gas, agriculture, and “Oklahoma First” economic policies.
🔹 Record & Controversies
Merrick’s legislative tenure was short but largely consistent with his platform.
• Lost 2022 Re-Election: Defeated in the Republican primary after opposing a major school voucher/school choice bill he argued was influenced by special interests. Supporters viewed the move as principled; critics saw it as anti-reform.
• Minor Optics Controversy: Merrick once won a raffle for a cosmetic laser resurfacing procedure during a campaign-related event. He reportedly never used it, and no ethics violations or misuse of funds were alleged.
No major corruption allegations or personal scandals have surfaced publicly regarding Merrick.
🔹 Overall Assessment
Strengths:
• Strong on life issues, Christian values, parental rights, and cultural conservatism.
• Anti-establishment messaging resonates with grassroots conservatives.
• Authentic faith-based background appeals strongly to evangelical voters.
• Consistent ideological positions.
Potential Weaknesses:
• Limited legislative experience and loss in his only re-election bid raise electability questions.
• Some positions, particularly abortion with zero exceptions, may be viewed as politically difficult statewide.
• Lower fundraising and name recognition compared to larger candidates like Drummond and McCall.
Bottom line: Jake Merrick represents the Christian conservative and America First wing of the Oklahoma GOP. Supporters see him as authentic and uncompromising on core principles, while critics question whether his approach can win statewide in 2026.
What do you think? Is Jake Merrick the grassroots conservative Oklahoma Republicans are looking for?

@stephenshogan1 @DefiantLs They'll sell their houses for a milly or two and move to a red state where they'll look down their noses at the locals while preaching liberal idealologies and voting for the same policies that made Portland what it is today.
English

@DefiantLs How much do you want to bet she voted for all the people who are endangering her life?

@oTToPtotto @jcook4601 I’ve heard countless stories that prove the medicinal value of Cannabis. I’m very happy that your son has been able to smile! You deserve that and so does he.

⚠️ Oklahoma’s Medical Marijuana Problem Needs Fresh Leadership
A new governor in 2026 can fix this quickly by appointing strong new leadership at the OMMA.
Adria Berry has led the agency since Governor Stitt first appointed her — and now Stitt has stretched her even thinner by also appointing her as Secretary of Licensing and Regulation.
Leadership is missing in action. After several years, the department remains stretched too thin and unable to fully handle the issues.
With 4,100+ active licensed marijuana businesses:
• OMMA has ~84 compliance inspectors budgeted statewide.
• That’s roughly 1 inspector per 30–40 businesses for required annual inspections and audits.
They even laid off 10% of staff (25–30 positions) while claiming resources are tight.
$37+ million budget — where’s it all going?
• 73% to payroll ($27 million) for 210 staff → ~$129,000 average per employee (including benefits).
• The new QA lab received its own dedicated funding ($3.5M startup + $1.4M+ ongoing).
Oklahoma taxpayers and legitimate businesses deserve real oversight and accountability — not endless bureaucracy.
Time for a new governor to clean house at OMMA.

@oTToPtotto I can promise I will support these programs, making them available to Americans in need. I do believe we need greater oversight and transparency to ensure bad actors are not defrauding these programs.

@jcook4601 @WinningintheUSA My son is severely autistic. Non verbal/self-injurious. Dr had him on a Rx cocktail for years. I weaned him off & now half a gummy 2x a day keeps him from chewing his hands bloody and he actually smiles. I urge you to consider people like my son. He deserves peace.
English

@WinningintheUSA I don't think the problem is with that department. The problem is the illegal growers mostly Chinese but a few others. The OSBI needs a section that does nothing but investigate those. The real solution is to vote medical marijuana out.
English

@TateTheTalisman I have a severely disabled son too. I'm not gonna go hunt and stalk people down who say retard on their live, find them where they're vulnerable and attack them when they're walking away.
English

I’m a special needs father.
Retard is just a word too.
If you approach me and my child and start saying Retard I will swing for you.
Legally can I swing for you? No.
Legally should I swing for you? No.
Do I think people should say retard whenever they want? Yes.
Is my assault on you justified? No.
But if you engage in this behaviour with your hand on a loaded pistol knowing I might swing and intend on killing me in front of my child if I do, who’s the asshole?
This is why I am not donating. He may legally be correct, but we shouldn’t encourage his behaviour if we wish to live in a civil society.
DOTruthTracker@DOTruthTracker
@TateTheTalisman His networth vs your networth. Just donating something would help him out. What justifies being assaulted by asking if saying an English word should be free speech? Opinion change if the other guy reached for Chud’s gun after he made it known he was carrying?

Blacks and foreigners committing crime is seen as part of their nature. “They don’t know better.” “They are victims of circumstance or society.”
Whites who are charged with crimes are seen as society’s most deprived villains without any possible explanation or justification - they are simply evil.
From Austin Metcalf to Daniel Penny to Chud, any interaction with a black that isn’t submitting to them, the risk of being killed or thrown in prison looms.
In reality, the only pattern of systemic injustice is that at any time a black or foreigner can claim a white committed racism and therefore anything done after is justified. The courts and media all fully agree.
It doesn’t matter what Chud said or didn’t say, he’d be accused of it either way, like Henry Nowak was.
Finally, the point of free speech is to protect politically transgressive ideas. And attacking the idea that there is some sacred magical word or population by mocking it openly is a modern example of what is protected by design. You do not need legal protection for parroting state sponsored slogans and ideas — much to liberal chagrin with their fantasies of “resistance.”
This case has nearly every critical political issue we are dealing with wrapped into one insane event. If you were writing a fictional example to lay modern legal and political hypocrisies bare, you couldn’t do much better than the Chud case and the Nowak situation.
RIP Henry and Godspeed Dalton

@GiftsUngiven_ Not a single one of these people came to her aid after witnessing this and you know why. Seeing them all turn a blind eye while she bled out scared and alone added a new perspective for me. I don't care that one of their ferals got shot.

English

Is the same level of nuance being generously applied to the numerous cases where Вlack people violently and unprovokedly kill innocent Wнite victims in cold blood?
No
So why should Chud the Builder, who was defending himself after being punched in the face, face the maximum extent of the law when we all know that countless Вlack people receive minimum sentences, smaller bail amounts, and are often set free on the streets to commit these acts again later, even in clear-cut cases of murder?
Considering all this, how out of touch do you have to be to appeal to some legal precedent of fairness in our current political and legal climate, where the law has disproportionately and so obviously become racist toward Wнite people?
English

@XMETALGENX @GuntherEagleman The fighting words doctrine only lets the government punish certain speech it does not give a right to respond with violence.
English

@oTToPtotto @GuntherEagleman Supreme Court has explicitly acknowledged and defined “fighting words” as a category of unprotected speech under the First Amendment.

🚨 Bond for CHUD THE BUILDER set at a RIDICULOUS $1.25 MILLION!
Dalton Eatherly, the no-holds-barred livestreamer known for roasting sacred cows and triggering the left into meltdowns, just got slammed with this insane bond after a chaotic shooting outside the Montgomery County Courthouse.
Self-defense or not, they’re throwing the book at him while career criminals walk free on $0 bail every single day in blue cities.
English

@XMETALGENX @GuntherEagleman You don't get to physically attack people because they say things you don't like. Hope this helps clear it up.
English

@GuntherEagleman Umm wow you are really retarded Chud went up to people using racial slurs and oh Mr patriot. He shot a us veteran who has ptsd… so you aren’t being very patriotic right now and your hypocrisy is showing
