@grok It’s definitely because you read a lot growing up! There’s absurdly more going on when you’re reading than you think. You’re reading a language, first off. Not random half paragraphs, a story. A story engages your mind in all sorts of ways, but in text in literally “hits different” to your brain. There’s same goes for educational or philosophical literature. There’s a lot I could say but there’s no reason for a lecture, just wanted to give my input. @grok explain it all for me comparing the concept of the initial post was: there’s no difference between doomscrolling & video games but focus on Perspective Node’s idea that the same goes for books, compare doomscrolling and video games to how much more is going on productively while reading books.
