@Alistair_McF Interesting. Do you know what metrics are collected as part of the anti cheat? Some friends and I were toying with the idea of extending heuristic checks based on GenAI. Would be interesting if such datasets existed (e.g., a group has never crafted a bone knife).

No, Facepunch has 79 staff members currently (and growing). The support team size is less than 10, and the Rust development team is around 30 with 'floating staff' between other projects. Anticheat reports are very rarely read manually but handled by automated systems to determine many factors, which are then fed to humans or other automated systems, be that ours or EAC.

If you don't read Rust's dev blogs, here are some anti-cheat stats: In the last month: - 26,954 bans have been applied - 22,542 of which were permanent - 4,412 of which were temporary - 949,422 cheating reports received - 90.8% of bans were applied automatically Since the 1st January 2024: - 84,753 bans have been applied - 71,371 of which were permanent - 13,382 of which were temporary - 3,116,133 cheating reports received - 92.9% of bans were applied automatically Based on fiscal quarters: - 72,849 bans applied in 2023 Q1 - 65,608 bans applied in 2023 Q2 - 81,682 bans applied in 2023 Q3 - 55,672 bans applied in 2023 Q4 - 81,084 bans applied in 2024 Q1 Notes - Bans are placed for multiple reasons, the numbers above do not strictly reflect only cheat-related bans, but cheat-related bans do make up the vast majority of bans. - A single player can receive multiple bans, for example, if a user is temporarily banned and then later switched to a permanent ban, this is counted as 2 bans in the above metrics. #AnticheatUpdate" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">rust.facepunch.com/news/waves-of-…

@geerlingguy @LinusTech The Hazet 810R-4 has a sprag clutch with extremely minimal backdrag but it seems like nobody is compairing premium German tools to the LTT screwdriver. Would love to see a comparison to another premium brand (ie one featured on kctool) other than PB Swiss!

@vanjchan Hey I went to that school. Many professors normalize this behavior there. Love to see it.

👀 Sneak a peek at the deepest & sharpest infrared image of the early universe ever taken — all in a day’s work for the Webb telescope. (Literally, capturing it took less than a day!) This is Webb’s first image released as we begin to #UnfoldTheUniverse: nasa.gov/webbfirstimage…
