Another nonsensical cover by @TheEconomist this week. They call the US-Israel military campaign against Iran a “reckless campaign against Iran”. Complete nonsense! The risk had to be taken. There’s no alternative to achieving long-term stability in the Middle East and in the global economy. There have been negotiations before and they didn’t work. Apartheid was a social experiment which failed owing to its unfairness. But the National Party knew how to manage government finances and have profitable self sustaining state owned enterprises. The ANC has replicated the racist policies of the Nats but they forgot to learn the skill of fiscal discipline. Tribal politics has no place in a modern economy.

There is a lot to criticize about Ramaphosa, and we must. But there is some bad faith posturing here. Maybe he should have said, "I have no relationship with him..." but the idea that he would not know/remember a nephew of an ex-wife from 1978, who was 5 at the time of the marriage, is not inconceivable. They divorced when the boy was 9. You tell me which man stays in touch with an ex wife's 9 year old nephew after marrying his second wife (may her soul rest peacefully.) The second marriage also ended in divorce and he married his lovely current wife, Dr Tshepo. New relationships, new in laws, new nephews and nieces over close to 5 decades, but that nephew from 1978 is his man? Some of you don't know your nephews' names and birthdays.😝 You tell me if you have not experienced a "Hawu, ke wena ngoana Peter? Peter wa ko Orlando?
