Update for the people asking for boards: if you search eBay for "Violin Memory" you can find a similar card in a different form factor. The FPGA is covered with a heatsink, so the FPGA type is a mystery. The package is also different (1150 vs 780 pins) CC: @rombik_su @hansfbaier

Another Stratix V card saved from the trash - this time with a lot of NAND memory. It successfully boots and PCIe comes up, but no drivers can be found on the net. This one might be trickier to RE than the Pikes Peak/Storey Peak: it uses Actel SmartFusion to boot.

Back Alley deal surprise: I bought a used Thin Client, expecting that it may have Arm, x86, mips or old ppc hardware. But I got a decent FPGA for just under $7

Spare parts for monitors using the bigger G-Sync module are finally starting to show up on eBay. I just got this Asus monitor board for $60. So we're clear, this G-Sync module uses a Arria 10 GX 480K LE FPGA, which lists for about $2600.

I should start working towards getting SAMTEC connectors for a base board, I can get those here for sure, but the process may be challenging for a private person.

Catapult board progress so far: - FPGA conf. over JTAG/from EPCQ is working now - made a BOM with all ICs - figured out most of the accessible pins (I2C/LEDs) - I2C is working (temp sensor, EEPROM, IDT PLL) I2C EEPROM stores P/N, HW rev, FW ver., possible MACs for QSFPs.
