@realTrumpDucky @ahouse4all So what is to stop people from just killing you and taking your shit? 🤔 If you demand 100% of my income to exist I can pay you nothing and you die in the street. That's what you want for us. Turnabout fair play.

@odd_dimensions @ahouse4all Your concept of a tenant is faulty. If you can’t cover my costs then you’re no good to me and you don’t have a place to live.

@ConfoundedSoc @ahouse4all "if you save 300 a month on the apartment" that's the point no one is "saving 300 a month" the cost goes up $300/mo and all the other apts went up $300/mo too, my insurance went up $45/mo, groceries $100+/mo, internet $10/mo phone $20/mo gas $7/gal, it costs $1k+ per person move

@odd_dimensions @ahouse4all “In the Bay Area” - I have figured out your problem. Hell of a lot cheaper to move. If you save 300 a month on the apartment, that’s 3600 a year. You can’t move somewhere easily move for a third of that or less. If you don’t want to move all the time, buy a house.

@dangainor @DiaspoidDoomer @ahouse4all You think everyone in America should just start their own gig? 🤣🤣🤣 How do you pay the rent while you are starting your gig? With what money? How do you buy tools? What if everyone else is starting their own gig? There are only so many "gigs" to start.

@odd_dimensions @LMJofficially @ahouse4all You started your reply correctly .. you want. My friend want to buy a house in Black Hawk, the gated community he was raised in but since he chose to be an elementary school teacher he cant afford it. What do we do? He really wants it. Any suggestions?

@dangainor @DiaspoidDoomer @ahouse4all "I don't agree to these lowered wages" "Ok, you're fired, I'll find someone else to do it for less." "I will find a company paying better wages" No companies are paying better wages.

@TonyOday27 @ahouse4all I didn't vote for any of this, dumbass. And the guy who won? He didn't win fairly either. But you can bet the people who got him into office are the ones making bank off squeezing us to death.

@ahouse4all Raises rent because you voted for more taxes, higher taxes, higher wages and more government spending driving inflation.

@ahouse4all Hate to tell you this but as the small time landlord the only time I raised rent was when the property worth went from $200k to $375k, making the taxes sky rocket and putting me in the hole. Otherwise I’d still charge $750 a month and not $1000

@bryanrbeal @ahouse4all Why is that, I wonder? Maybe being a landlord is a bad investment. Maybe they should get a job instead of being a house scalper.

@ahouse4all “No reason” The reason: maintenance costs are up, property taxes are up, materials costs are up, labor costs are up, energy costs are up, utility costs are up…. Need more?

@ConfoundedSoc @ahouse4all How much does it cost to move? You can't just "keep moving somewhere cheaper" even a 1br studio apt is $1500 or more in the bay area. People are raising the rents to match "the market" and everyone is getting priced out. "Lying about not having much money" is bullshit.

@ahouse4all Every time my rent went up, I’d move. apartment complexes offer lower rent to get people to move in. If you’re so poor, you don’t have much to move, so it’s easy. If you have a lot to move, you’re lying about not having much money.

@OracleGuruMike @ahouse4all I didn't do any of that, in fact I added tremendous value to the property I rented and saved lots of damage. Maybe a landlord should actually maintain the property instead of letting tenants run rampant. Also outside everything you mentioned only the pipes cost real money.

Because of bad tenants I just lost the equivalent of 2 years of rent in repair cost and lost rentals. That is why we increase rents, tenants who put holes in walls, allow pipes to freeze, tear up carpets, use nails (in this case dozens) to hang things and paint walls crappy colors. Also my tax assessments just doubled, meaning my costs went up.

$400 a year in rent increases. That's $33 a month. Gone before you open the Aldi bag. Housing costs twice the labor hours it did a generation ago. Healthcare nearly quintupled. You can optimize every line in your grocery budget and the structural costs absorb it faster than you can cut.

@ArgenTo46 @ahouse4all Hahahahah hahahahahah "bus ride" as if public transit is good. I rode Caltrain for almost a decade. You still need a car for many things, or you are wasting hours of your life. Or spending money on gig transport

@errorsimulator @ahouse4all You also forget that at one point it WAS affordable, and the costs going up across the nation are a deliberate effort to force people into renting where they have no ability to save

@errorsimulator @ahouse4all People are moving out in droves. There is plenty of room for everyone to live. AirBNB for example has captured a huge segment of the market. Investment companies bought up the market and artificially raised prices. "Supply and demand" is a joke.

@realTrumpDucky @ahouse4all 1. I am not obligated to pay your property taxes. 2. I am not obligated to pay your insurance. 3. Landlords do little to no maintenance and will do the absolute minimum. 4. Controlling access to a fundamental human need is evil.
