Dear friends and colleagues, As you some of you may know, earlier this year the @CIJ_ICJ Registry released a Note entitled: "Request for Advisory opinion - Procedure followed by the International Court of Justice."  This Note was a boon to many states participating in advisory proceedings, many for the first time, and a useful resource articulating important procedural aspects of participation at the ICJ. At a recent briefing with Legal Advisers, the ICJ President, alluded to this Note potentially being updated. In this regard, we have embarked on collecting feedback from states, International Organizations and other relevant stakeholders to feed into the iteration and further development of the Note. Please do take time to review the current Note, and we welcome responses, feedback and other questions that may assist the ICJ Registry in further developing the Note. Please share your feedback by November 22, 2023 via this form (forms.gle/4TEKwfmyiFauGH…). We will duly transmit all results to the ICJ Registry for their consideration. Vanuatu 🇻🇺 + members of the #ICJAO4Climate core group 🇦🇬🇧🇩🇨🇷🇩🇪🇱🇮🇫🇲🇲🇦🇳🇿🇵🇹🇷🇴🇼🇸🇸🇬🇺🇬🇻🇳 requested an extension of the time limits for the written proceedings from the @CIJ_ICJ and are pleased that this was granted. This will be a boon to the many states with little or no experience before the ICJ, and assist many others as they draft submissions and prepare to engage in the proceedings. Time limits for the written statements are now 22 January 2024, written comments/replies 22 April 2024.
