Now that the Sabres won, I’m taking this opportunity to point out how disgustingly arrogant Montreal/National Media was after game three. An absurd amount of people are forgetting the Habs are playing the Atlantic Division Champions, not the WC2.

After listening to David Stearns presser, I’m convinced even more that he is the single most arrogant and unqualified exec in sports. I’m also more convinced than ever that the NY media is scared to ask him the truly tough questions. When he said he didn’t want to address the Mendoza issue again with “you guys”, the reporters should have done their jobs and pushed back. Talk about the Phillies success. Ask him about whether his job security is tied to Mendoza’s success. Ask him why it took him so long to promote Ewing and why he was running out a bunch of cast offs. And here’s an idea…ask him if he makes the lineups and decides who is pitching. Ask him if left righty is a thing he has imposed. Ask him if he makes the bullpen decisions. Just put him in an uncomfortable place and hold him accountable. Instead they let him smirk and scold them for daring to ask about Mendoza. What a joke. @Mets

I’m willing to give him some leash. I think his system will eventually breed results from the bottom up.

This is pretty significant from Chelsea. She writes that she doesn’t believe Stearns gets more chances beyond the season, if the #Mets fail to make the playoffs. One can only hope that this is true and that @StevenACohen2 fires David, in order to start fresh with a new GM/manager

@ernestdove Call me crazy but I still don’t think david Stearns did a bad job putting the roster together. I don’t agree with everything they do, but you’ll never have that.

(my broken record comment) If you fire David Stearns, you have to replace majority of coaching/player dev staff top to bottom, AAA-DSL because the staff are implementing everything thats occurring in MLB level down to the teenage players in farm system. For better or worse you would be firing a 'system' again. how does that impact next few years?
