29 teams passed on Munetaka Murakami He’s also hitting .227 and is on pace for 237 strikeouts Should probably pump the brakes on that one for now
Beaker@Beakerlives

@DannyAbriano Now do Murakami who Stearns scouted

@JNMets Everyone expected Soto to not play. He did. Quiet leadership.

Juan Soto stepped into and embraced a leadership role much easier w/ a younger roster. 7 Mets on the 26 man roster and 8 if you count Alvarez, are younger than Soto. Removing Marte,Alonso,Nimmo,McNeil, Lindor (injury) and inserting Ewing and Benge changes a locker room dynamic

@TreIindor20 Yes! Ewing seems to be a hitter that P must adapt to. Not the other way around .

I’ve been fooled before by Mets top prospects debuting really well (Mauricio, Baty ETC.) but AJ Ewing feels different. His presence at the plate and his discipline combined with his speed defense and the hit tool he showed off today really has the makings of a special player

It took the Mets multiple injuries a big loosing streak to play good baseball. The infield with Baty , Bichette playing thier natural position gold glover Simien have been solid the OF with the youngsters Is solid the SP & pen real solid

I’d like to add that the night in Arizona when Ibanez made the 2 errors was big because since then Mendoza/ Stearns has stopped platooning & have played the lefties vs lefty SP & theve came threw

Anyone who thinks Peralta is this team's ace doesn't know squat about pitching. Nolan McLean is the unquestioned ace and hopefully will be for years. This guy reminds me of David Cone. He has poise, but there is also fire.

A.J. Ewing is such a stud. Having a guy like this who plays elite CF defense is going to be special. Mets haven’t had a CF like this in a long time.

The games in this series were so much more watchable than any I've seen this year. Best wins all year.

@JuanSotoIsKing @Mets Thank you bro. Parmesan has been through a lot of bad. Just fed her some homemade white meat chicken. She is in full mom bear 🐻 mode . The puppies look like baby seals 🦭.

@scriptdemon @MetsGiveMeAgita Excellent the 5 of them especially Baty / Vientos are comparable playing thier regular positions each game & not worried about an 0-4 knowing they will play the next day . Vientos real close to his 2024 swing

@TonyMetroMLB Exactly! I get fired up with Ewing’s swing so compact that I don’t want to say what I think AJ could put up THIS YEAR. I won’t say it. I will say .340 OBP & 25 SB is a nice FLOOR.

@scriptdemon I mean I don’t wanna get too far ahead but I don’t see why he can’t keep it around 360 even as a rookie. Let’s see how the league adjusts but everyone raves about his plate discipline, contact ability/compact swing, and of course his speed.

I’d personally be shocked if AJ Ewing didn’t maintain this 1.543 OPS

@NYNJHarper I see David Cone in McLean. I see Terry Leach/Rick Reed/Turk Wendell in Austin Warren. It’s nice to see old @Mets players in new ones. Especially the ones i listed above.

Impressive that McLean got through 7 after falling behind 3-0 early and had little command. Said he had to "find what was working, get creative" to get deep into game - changed up his pitch mix on the fly. Big fist pump after K'ing McGonigle to end 7th told you how much it meant.
