@LadyNimby I doubt she actually has this big of an issue with her own mental load but is explaining it for others/using milk brand as an easy example. It’s not that hard to understand
English

Girl just tell him what kind of f*****g milk you buy if that is your cross to carry
BlackSword@Blacksword011
What men don’t understand about the mental load
English

@SmalllIvy @Blacksword011 First 3 aren’t relevant, but I would know if I owned a home. I know what both cars need when. We discuss major work deadlines/to dos with each other regularly. The internet is free and once it’s relevant to my life, I’ll know for next time. 🤷♀️
English

@officialsydfitz @Blacksword011 So, do you know how to turn off the gas, electric, and water for your home? What's the maintenance schedule for your car and when were things last done? What does your husband need to get done at work next week and next month? What wrench is needed to change the spark plugs?
English

@parachutesBTC @Blacksword011 Not my husband personally, just using an example. But very much a “straw that broke the camel’s back” kind of situation for so many women
English

@officialsydfitz @Blacksword011 I am happy that your husband not being aware of the families milk brand is your biggest concern of the day.
You live a blessed life and I am jealous.

@rhett__15 Moved from Houston the New England. I miss this so much and I never thought I would
English

The average Californian mind cannot comprehend the joy of spending every afternoon in the summer watching a giant set of dark clouds and lightning roll in, pouring rain for 25 minutes, and then disappearing - leaving you with a hot, muggy, ozone smelling evening.

@NoblestCalling I remember always having a water bottle as a kid. We were very outdoorsy though, so half the time we were outside for hours with no water access. It’s just transferred now to water everywhere for me and my kids. Better to needlessly have it than forget when it’s needed
English

I don't have my kids attached at the hip to their water bottle, but the "water and snacks at the park discourse" is funny because a) since COVID public water fountains that are functioning are quite rare and b) we literally spend hours at the park sometimes and it's warm out so this is one circumstance where we actually do need to bring water and sometimes snacks. I guess it's fine if you're a 30 minute park kind of family.
English

@Khensi_20 Also it increases productivity bc most email jobs you’re wasting time to get to 5 pm so you’re not bored. Shift workers aren’t as tired from being on their feet 40+ hrs a week and are more rested for their next shift. It’s better all around
English

@Khensi_20 And not in a “paid less and 3 day weekend” way, but same pay and everyone can have different weekdays off. No more PTO needed for errands and doctor visits. Kids have a school event? Make that your day off for the week. More time for hobbies, contributing to the economy too
English

Not a toddler, but my 6 yo asks for “juice mixed with seltzer” almost every night for dinner
lauren@mercurygurl
does anyone else have a toddler who’s obsessed with sparkling water
English

@_celia_bedelia_ Things are much safer! We just now hear about every single time something unsafe happens and it makes people think the whole world is like that
English

@mrsdobbins_ “If You Were My Bunny” it has 5 classic nursery rhymes rewritten to be from a mama animal to her baby, I still sing the songs regularly to my kiddos
English

@washghost1 “Okay, but I’ll be leaving 20 minutes early each day as I am not getting my legally allotted full break time at lunch”
English

@funnierhandle I know my mom was actually always the “we love your mom!” parent, but at 13? Everyone has issues with their parents, no matter how contrived the issues are
English

people are so self-deluded that they convince themselves their children’s friends actually want to hang out with them
The REAL Suburban Mom@ItsMrsPlugg
Additionally, you gotta be so lame for a 13 year olds not to want to hang out with you. My 13 year olds friend are always in awe when I’m around following me around like puppies. Step ya cookies up.
English

@theoceanblooms Like I can understand staying at the theater, like in a food court or watching another movie so you’re available, but literally saying “I’ll be there to watch y’all” is weird
English

@weirdbeingg Literally so many pregnant women lose weight the first trimester (myself included) bc they’re so sick they barely eat and the baby takes all the nutrients they’re able to intake
English

@NinaPanickssery A lot of grandparents are still working full time. And with increased movement, many people don’t live near grandparents. My mom would 100% be my childcare but she both works full time still and lives halfway across the country
English

The whole “I’m just a 32 yo teen mom” and “child bride at 28” jokes have seeped too far into some people’s subconscious and it’s really a problem
˚⟡˖ ࣪ elana ࣪ ˖ ⟡˚ 🍉@elana_danielle
people’s concepts of “age gaps” has become so warped bc wdym children. marisha was 26 at the start of critical role playing with a table of people in their 30s. no one in this equation was a child. you’re the weird one here, bro
English

@arcuaria Every time I see people say “a bottle of wine is nothing” it reminds of my husband telling me about a bachelor party he went to where like 6 of the guys split and did not finish a bottle of wine on the first night
