@ThrillaRilla369 An empty nester now, I wish I had stayed home. My husband stayed home and I worked. Financially this made sense for us but I also grew up being told to never rely on a man Financially. Now, child is grown & I wish I made other decisions.

A flight turned tense after a disagreement between two passengers over an extra seat. According to the account shared online, a plus-size traveler had intentionally purchased two seats for the flight. She explained that she wanted enough space to sit comfortably and avoid making other passengers uncomfortable during the journey. But during boarding, the situation quickly changed. A mother traveling with a toddler approached the woman and asked if the child could use the empty seat next to her. The traveler declined, explaining that she had paid for the seat specifically for extra space. The conversation escalated. The mother reportedly complained to a flight attendant, arguing that the seat could be used by her child instead. The passenger then showed both of her boarding passes, proving she had purchased and reserved the extra seat. In the end, the airline allowed the woman to keep the seat she paid for. The toddler was expected to sit on the parent’s lap, which is a common arrangement permitted for very young children on flights. Despite the resolution, the woman later said she felt uncomfortable for the rest of the flight, claiming she received disapproving looks and passive-aggressive comments from other passengers. When the story spread online, it sparked debate. Some people argued that since she paid for the seat, she had every right to keep it. Others believed she should have given it up for the child. The moment turned into another viral discussion about airline etiquette, personal space, and whether paying for something automatically settles the debate.

@jimsguts @GovernorShapiro You don't have kids? Or you're among the lazy parents happy to hand over a phone, video game portable, tablet etc to have free time for yourself? Removing the tech is tough. It adds responsibility to those in charge. But way better for the kids

@GovernorShapiro Why are you assuming having a cell phone isn’t letting kids be kids for this generation? Every Gen has its standards. Just because you didn’t have cell phones during your childhood doesn’t mean you should deprive the current gen of being able to live in their moment.

The best thing we can do for our kids right now is to just let them be kids. Kids are getting cell phones sooner than any generation before them, screen times are up while real human connection is down, and foundational skills aren’t being taught enough these days. We need to take a step back. It’s why I just signed a bipartisan bill into law, requiring cursive handwriting to once again be taught in PA public schools. It’s also why I’ve called on the legislature to pass a bill requiring schools to both implement a bell-to-bell cell phone ban and guarantee recess for every Pennsylvania student.  Let’s continue our work to set young people on a path to success — and let our kids be kids.

Three things that are somehow controversial that absolutely should not be: 1. You do not need to eat organic produce to be healthier, especially when plenty of people are struggling to eat even a single vegetable in a day. 2.Vaccines are preventive medicine, period. 3.RFK Jr. is an abomination to public health. Dead serious. His rhetoric is dangerous, and people are getting hurt.

Ultraprocessed food isn't a coherent scientific concept and the attempts to formalize it have been a joke, as with the scale used in this study. Slice a potato and bake it: Unprocessed (Group 1) Slice a potato and fry it: "Ultraprocessed" (Group 4) Nuts: Unprocessed Nuts, salted: "Processed" (Group 3) Homogenized, pasteurized milk: Unprocessed Milk churned with sugar into ice cream: "Processed" This is a search for a scientific-sounding language to describe why one set of foods is nutritionally suspect, but in moralizing terms of how it was created by an industrial system, rather than characterizing food impacts directly by nutritional content or satiety. They can't just call the system "added sugar" because that's too obvious and not morally satisfying.
The Wall Street Journal@WSJ

People who eat around nine servings a day of ultraprocessed foods like chips and doughnuts have about a 67% higher risk of heart attacks, strokes and dying from heart disease compared with those who eat about one serving a day, according to a new study. 🔗 on.wsj.com/3PgXHeg

Does anyone else get asked to sign things at the doctor's office that aren't true? This is the second time. J is getting allergy shots, and the nurse says "I need you to sign this." I read it, and it says "I confirm we are leaving the premises despite being advised against doing so." I say "but we aren't leaving. You just told me we should wait here for 20 minutes, and we are." At the pediatrician: "we need you to sign this Good Faith Estimate. " Me: "I don't see the Estimate." Receptionist: "That is the Good Faith Estimate" Me: "... there is no number. If I sign this, you can charge whatever you want and I have to pay it. That seems contradictory to the purpose of GFE" Receptionist, now annoyed because how dare I read: "do what you want but they won't treat her if you don't sign and you'll pay a cancelation fee" How is this legal?

My friend's dog was having seizures daily. They changed his dog food but no improvement. They asked their Vet what else they could try. The Vet said to stop giving dog food. Only feed the dog raw hamburger. The seizures stopped. The Vet gave better nutritional advice for a dog than a doctor would give to a human. We think it's okay to eat the same kinds of processed foods made with the same kinds of ingredients, then blame our health issues on genetics and take our pills. Exactly how the system wants us to be.

Unpopular opinion but if a bowl of cereal makes you sick, you're not as healthy as you think you are 🤷‍♀️ or is it like, "we are so pure now that cereal makes us all sick because our pure bodies just reject it now". Because, right. Anyway, happy to report that my kids, who are completely vaccine-free, were breastfed, no pharmaceuticals, and eat a primarily whole foods diet can tear up a bowl of processed cereal on the rare occasion they eat it with zero negative effects because they are very healthy people in general. If a bowl of cereal sends your kids into stomach aches and feeling terrible, they may not be as healthy and robust as you think or maybe have like gluten allergies or something 🤷‍♀️
Mrs. Gore@MrsGoresDiary

We have slowly cut almost all processed food from our house over the past few years. Last night, we declared a fun cereal night, and the kids were so excited for a little throwback meal. They got all their old favorites at the grocery store. And each ended the night with a tummy ache and an overall feeling of blech. 😂 I don’t know if they will ever go back to the cereal aisle. Real food, man. It’s winning!

We do not talk enough about how many women stop enjoying their birthdays while they’re married. Not because they “don’t care about getting older,” but because the day becomes one more emotional obstacle course to manage. She is not waking up wondering what cake she wants or how she wants to feel; she is scanning the room, reading his mood, lowering her expectations before breakfast. By the time the candles come out, she has already spent the day protecting herself from disappointment

I beg ANYONE who subscribes to this propaganda to join a divorced women’s group on FB. Just pop in. Read some posts. Do it before you sacrifice your entire life and earnings potential for a person who will trade you in for a younger model at the drop of a hat and then call YOU the leach for asking for a share of the wealth that he absolutely could not have created without you. My parents got divorced when I was nine. The greatest lesson my mother ever taught me was to seek love, seek partnership, have children, BUT MAKE YOUR OWN MONEY.

I watched a toddler drop her ice cream in the parking lot yesterday. Full meltdown. Her dad didn't rush to fix it. Didn't offer solutions. He just sat down on the hot asphalt next to her and said, "That really sucks, doesn't it?" They sat there together for a full minute. She was crying. He was sad with her. Then she took his hand and said, "Can we go home now?" I've been thinking about it all day. Maybe the best thing you can offer someone isn't a solution, just your presence.

Ok my fellow Senior Friends, who doesn’t like to save some money 💵 FYI EVERYONE!!! I heard a guy ask for his senior discount @ Wendy's, The girl at the register apologized and charged him less. When I asked the man what the discount was, he told me that seniors over age 55 ...get 10% off everything on the menu, every day. (But you need to ASK for your discount.) This incident prompted me to do some research, and I came across a list of restaurants, supermarkets, department stores, travel deals and other types of offers giving various discounts with different age requirements. Former fattie here, I agree with you wholeheartedly (the doctor and the need for proper diet) and I rarely listen to reels like this, but she looks so distressed, I did—and since I can relate to what she says, I can see some of her points and her reality. Is she completely honest with herself? NO. Neither was I. And I was given horrible advice for decades. @drjasonfung changed everything for me—finally sharing metabolic health wisdom I desperately needed. I do know and take full responsibility for my health (even if bad advice kept me in the obesity cycle for three decades). I am on a mission to help these women. I’m not even sure why I’m commenting, other than to say—I want this problem to be resolved 💔❤️‍🩹❤️ Freedom is possible. And honestly, the heavy weight of shame I carried was worse than the 100 extra pounds. #SugarFreed

There is an almost 0% chance that if you have two significantly overweight parents, that their child will be in shape. He/she will be out of shape, inflamed, and insulin resistant by their 12th birthday— set up for a lifetime of illness and drugs. The massive neglect going on right now in the United States is unprecedented. This has literally never happened before in human history. How we change the culture in America I do not have all the answers for. But I do know that drugs are NOT the answer.

New client. 66 years old. $1.4M saved. Ready to retire. "My doctor told me two years ago to stop. I keep saying one more year." Her blood pressure is uncontrolled. She's gained 28 pounds since COVID. Her last checkup showed early signs of Type 2 diabetes. She manages a team of 22 people. Works 55 hours a week. "I just want to feel financially safe." We ran her numbers. $56K per year estimated income. Plus $34K in Social Security. $90K a year. She spends $71K now. She has $19K/year of cushion and she's ignoring her doctor to keep chasing a number she's already hit. She retired last month. Three weeks in, she called me. "I already feel better. I can't explain it. I just feel lighter." Her doctor prescribed retirement before I did. Sometimes the most important financial decision is knowing when you've already won. Hypothetical story changed to protect client identities. Not financial advice. Consult a qualified financial professional before making retirement decisions.
