@linmeitalks Not every person is rich and can save. Some jobs only pay enough to get the bills paid. I guess you will have to give your cleaner a raise.

Can I ask why, if a pensioner has worked all their life, they only have the state pension to rely on? Didn’t decide to save ? Put away for a rainy day ? Sounds like poor planning to me. And yes if your children have flown the nest and you, or you and your spouse are knocking around in a 3 or 4 bedroom house you bought decades ago- SELL it. You’ll have more than enough to live on.

There is a potential constitutional time bomb being set by the government... If you create regional "cultural ecosystems" you no longer have a national identity or loyalty; you have a "conglomeration" waiting for a crisis to pull it apart. But this is exactly what the English Devolution and Community Empowerment Bill (2026) will do. The Bill represents a fundamental shift in the UK’s constitutional architecture, specifically through the introduction of "Culture" as an eighth statutory area of competence for regional mayors. By granting a "legislatively backed mandate" for "cultural ecosystems", the Bill will potentially enable the establishment of diverse cultural within mayoral boundaries without any framework or requirement to ensure loyalty to the nation as a whole. It thereby facilitates sectarianism and threatens the social cohesion that has traditionally bound the United Kingdom together. The bottom line is that the Bill is fundamentally incompatible with national identity, loyalty and cohesion. It therefore subverts national resilience and must be struck out before it is enacted. - Key dates: - 13th April, further HoL Report session - 21st April to the HoC for consideration - May 2026, expected to receive Royal Assent Cohesion cannot be devolved.

Football fans have been treated like this since forever. Kettled, filmed, frogmarched down the road and slung into police vans. Mostly when we've been doing sod all wrong. Why are gangs of feral youths steaming shops treated with kid gloves? 🤷‍♀️
Chris Rose@ArchRose90

Look at how differently the police handled young football fans yesterday in comparison to the young looters in Clapham. They remembered how to use the batons again!

This is a must listen and a must share. Seriously. The BBC at its very worst. And this isn’t even @DouglasKMurray at his very best, yet he’s utterly brilliant.

Imagine, you go out with your mum and friends for the evening. You are followed and stalked by a man you don’t know. This happened to Oliwia Zawislak, a 19 year old girl in Cheltenham. She had left a night out early as she was working the next day when Abdolrahman Banafsha approached her on August 31, 2025. She was so frightened she went into a pub but they told her it was closed and she had to leave. When she got outside Banafsha, an Iranian asylum seeker who arrived in the UK on a small boat, dragged her into a nearby house where he assaulted her. Eventually she managed to get away and fled the house. He was arrested later that day and given just 27 months in a young offender’s institute after he admitted his guilt. He is 20 years old. He has also been placed on a sex offender’s list for 10 years. He has not been deported nor is there any suggestion that he will be deported. Oliwia came forward and rejected her right to anonymity because her life has been ruined and she does not want this to happen to anyone else.

@therealmissjo Surely committing a crime should automatically negate asylum. Immediate deportation after sentence served. It’s just common sense.

£48,174. That’s how much Hounslow Council spent on a single rainbow crossing, the most expensive in England. Meanwhile, councils claim they’re struggling to fund basic services. Is this a justified expense, or a complete waste of taxpayer money?

How disgusting - a nurse can ejaculate over a sick woman in A&E and NOT go to jail. No remorse. “Ah, his family would suffer”. “Out of character.” What else has Sunil Mushtaq done? Opportunistic harm/negligence against patients he disliked? I expect a care home will have him

Last Sunday a woman was raped by 4 men at the Assembly Rooms in Bath, UK. These are the man that the police are looking to find. The woman described them as “Asian men”. I think we know what that means. Bath is known for its history, its Roman ruins, its tea rooms. Now it is known for “Asian men” raping unsuspecting women. Had enough of this yet?

I totally agree on the natives narrative… But when it comes to the USA, you say white Americans first, right? Or the Europeans and Brits who have gone over there have the rights in the USA, while the Native Americans have been kept in open prisons called reservations where they’re not even allowed to build their own properties or open shops.

This is something all of us natives should get behind 💪🏻 The English, Scottish, Welsh, Cornish and Manx are the indigenous peoples of these islands. We've been here since the Ice Age, with deep roots, our own languages, cultures and bloodlines. Time to stop the double standards. Ratify ILO Convention 169 and formally recognise Britain's native peoples. Number of voters begging for “citrus marmalade” labels: 0. Number of businesses now told to rip up packaging and comply with 76 new EU food rules: thousands. This isn’t cutting red tape. It’s wrapping British producers in Brussels’ bureaucracy all over again.

The changes are small at first, almost petty but they eat away at British tradition and culture but by bit. Starmer’s EU reset means we can no longer simply call it “marmalade,” because the EU uses the same word for some of their jams. The U.K. must now comply and label it as “citrus marmalade.” All this, even though Britain consumes the most per capita and is credited with inventing the traditional orange recipe.
