@Jvel10 @PacingJouska Wouldn't children who could understand the choice be included by that metric though? Middle schoolers could probably understand the choice and wouldn't choose randomly, which doesn't seem different to me than offering the question to a developmentally challenged adult.

@oggoh4 @PacingJouska We can all intelligently coordinate and correctly all press red without fail if we're all thinking adults - the retards that die - addition by subtraction. But if you involve innocent infants pressing buttons at random. Killing them in unconscionable. It's no longer interesting.

@Rohanburdened @PacingJouska I suppose it would vary, though I don't know if I've ever seen anyone refer to animals with 'everyone' before. But if it just means people who could understand it, that would still include children to some degree, wouldn't it?

@oggoh4 @PacingJouska personhood starts at conception? Or all animals if hes vegan and considers animals "someone"? Or newborns? Like I dont think everyone is quantifying over all alive humans, thats not the interesting part of the question imo

@Jvel10 @PacingJouska Sorry, I'm not trying to be antagonistic. But clearly not everyone knows what it means, especially since it gives no indicator it means anymore than what it says. Like, from your perspective, how do you understand that it only refers to adults?

@oggoh4 @PacingJouska It's an obvious attempt to dodge the question by technicality. That's faggot shit. Engage with the thought experiment as clearly intended or stay out of the conversation. We all know what it meant, and so do you.

@Jvel10 @PacingJouska Wait, how is it a loophole? Yes, a person could assume they only meant adults, but that assumption doesn't really have a basis here without further clarification, right?

@PacingJouska Ya see, blue pressers know they're so wrong so they have to try to find loopholes about why they're *technically* correct. (It's bc their choice is so mentally retarded they have to do this.)

this situation has shown me that most people don't really care about the mistake someone made in the past, they just care about how they can use it as a weapon to ruin their lifes

@KillerKlungo @ohnoitsmark Not entirely sure how to view the entirety of someone's tweets, but don't replies and reposts count as well? I feel like that'd inflate the numbers somewhat.

@ohnoitsmark You should spend less time on this app. Almost 3k tweets in three months at 15 years old is tragic. Your parents should be ashamed

@GreatGoldPirate @divine_sms It's from an old SBS so it definitely could have been changed, but he has been drawn without the marking as a child, so it's most likely a scar.

I wonder why'd Vegapunk give S-Croc a scar. I wonder if it was self inflicted because the Seraphim wanted to look like the Original. I wonder if Seraphims have the inferiority complex when comparing themselves to the Originals. I wonder if they even know or care that they're not.

@Dogeleros3 @sgt_creamsoda @guinreds @LuneSexto It's sweeping generalizations like this that are the crux of why this discourse is so insufferable. How is saying all Americans are illiterate Nazis at all productive to making people understand why you like an American game and want it to be localized?

@sgt_creamsoda @guinreds @LuneSexto Thats just... True? Don't really see what's wrong with that statement. Americans are known as illiterate throught the entire world while thinking they are more intelligent than the rest and they also employ and elect literal nazis so...

Of all the Toby Fox discourse, this is the one that really got me. This is truly the thing that defines the conflict. People who speak in native english are incapable of understanding what it's like to have most art NOT made for your native language. It's baffling to me.

@ConceptHuman My question was not "why do people want to play games in their native language"

@Viniuau_ @DoubleHexagon01 @cool_duck76 @Jojostuck56 Unfortunately, it seems it doesn't really matter. Alongside people who just have disdain for Toby Fox as a whole latching onto the drama and fueling the flames, Undertale is actively being review bombed on Steam because of this. It all just feels so toxic and childish.

So many "fans" are completely devaluing localization as a craft in an effort to pretend that Undertale & Deltarune are easy games to translate. Some people are getting genuinely anti-art about all this
🎐Jay! 🎏@_jaynco

The whole Toby Fox situation is really exposing how many people don't know the difference between translation vs localization It's a lot more complex than just translating the text, especially with games so heavily reliant on wordplay, double meaning and dialog tone

@chippel @KungFuMan316 Ignoring that localization would require Toby Fox to be significantly hands on to ensure the themes and jokes are conveyed/adapted properly, have you seen how people react to English localizations of anime? Every other week it causes dub vs. sub arguments.

A personal perspective on Toby Fox’s approach to localization. (This might be a long thread, but I hope you’ll bear with me until the end.) #undertale #deltarune

@gatomoinhos @veeveeveeveevee Both Iran and Israel have confirmed he was killed in an Israeli strike. Wasn't necessarily killed over his tweet though since he was a significant figure in the Iranian government and Israel probably wanted him dead regardless.
