B complex/thiamine injections every 12 hours, probios for his stomach, a lot of electrolytes, a little redcell, and we're gonna go get him a nutritional supplement too. All glory to God, I have been praying continuously throughout the process 😭

I was minding my own business sweetening my tea when all of the sudden there was a malfunction with my 3kg bottle of Costco honey.
They're* calling it the greatest viscous flood since the Boston Molasses Disaster.

Even E.B. White said this of his revamping of The Elements of Style (while on staff at The New Yorker, no less):
"I discovered that for all my fine talk I was no match for the parts of speech—was, in fact, over my depth and in trouble. Not only that, I felt uneasy at posing as an expert on rhetoric, when the truth is I write by ear, always with difficulty and seldom with any exact notion of what is taking place under the hood."
Despite all that, I'd say the guy was a pretty effective communicator.

My late grandfather was a master electrician who had a wiring system in his house in the middle of the woods in the Ozarks that consisted of hitting a wall with an old broomstick to make it work.

@carmel_dotson Why does it matter? Like, legit - outside of quizzing them for standardized tests why does knowing special names for various word combinations matter at all? If you're super stressed about it, sit them down with madlibs for one afternoon. 😅

Everyone has stripes known as Blaschko's lines. These are normally not visible and are generally only present if there's an issue, chimerism, etc. But some birds can see them!

@xav_moss It is extremely common. I'm a French speaker who has lived and been educated primarily in English Canada. I've been complaining about anglophones calling me and people like me "French" since my early teens.

I find it so perplexing how English speakers will call French-speakers "French" even when they aren't from France. Are Americans English because they speak English? Are Mexicans Spanish because they speak Spanish?

@LorentLouise I taught myself to write backwards when I was a child after I learned that that's the way DaVinci wrote. DaVinci and I are lefties though. I don't think you specified.

I say almost because she writes it right to left, with all the letters mirrored.
Me: "We write (showing her), this way, you see."
5 yo: "I know, but I prefer the other way."
