Unfollowed everyone and from now on I will only use lists. Let's see if this way is better. Reply, if you think this is a bad idea.

The worst part of ElevenLabs is the lack of notifications for issues. For instance, a tool call would fail, and we’d be completely unaware unless a customer notified us or a developer simply checked its performance for "fun". Great AI tooling, shitty platform.

The power of my Rails Performance slack channel: I @-mention an engineer from a top Rails company about what they're doing, they respond instantly with a case study about how they reduced cumulative CI build-minutes by 33% by switching to fixtures (48 hours PER BUILD!).

@ogirginc (Also are you aware that we have Slack Pro on for the next ~3 or 4 days?)

I started giving away Slack invites to anyone who bought my book 10 years ago, as an afterthought. Turns out in the end it may have been even more valuable than the book itself.

@ogirginc Fizzy has an events system. I’ll take a look through it and cover it in more detail. They don’t use delegated types, which is too bad because I’d love to see more of their production code that uses that pattern.

We did RAG early on then unshipped it for a number of reasons: privacy, security, reliability, index staleness. Overall, we found that agentic search gave better results with fewer tradeoffs. If you prefer RAG, we recommend an MCP like Souregraph, or just ask Claude to build a code index for you.

The day you learn to make your AI behave 92.5% exactly as you wanted it to writing over 100k LOC in ruby and rails is a day you will remember for a while.

@AdvicebyAimar This is a great observation. Maybe you are the new Steve Jobs? I nominate you. Or me? (since I noticed you being the previous Steve Jobs)

The Mostly Technical podcast by @aarondfrancis and @IanLandsman has quickly become one of my favorite podcasts. Especially love listening to Aaron share both his wins and failures and all the business experiments. Highly recommend it.

@nateberkopec My only problem with them is the Datadog integration. If I understand it correctly, it’s not a straight forward one!

I really like the look of Render's dashboards and how they achieve a very high data:ink density. There's a LOT of datapoints on the screen here. That's a) a great technical achievement b) much better dataviz, shows more signal

.@levelsio genuinely curious: for AI coding tools like Claude Code, is it easier to understand one giant index.php with thousands of lines vs a split codebase with hundreds of smaller files?

I’ve been using AI to write nearly all my code for months, and I have access to tools that enable me to work on multiple tasks in parallel. I’m more productive than ever, yet end the day feeling like I’m not doing enough.

I’ll be out for a few weeks, so no new videos for a while. I’ll gladly take suggestions for content people would like to see covered in future videos.
