@DavidSHolz Where does that power go? Are they able to get it back down to earth somehow?

SpaceX put 10 megawatts of solar power in space across 3000 gen1 Starlink satellites, then they put 100 megawatts in space with 7000 gen2. soon, they're doing 1000 megawatts with gen3. SpaceX is basically 10xing space solar every few years!

For anyone curious about how Pi works, pretty simple - you just use a subscription or an api key to start. Any model, switch to a different one any time. For subscription, there are three options now: - Anthropic (Claude Pro/Max) - ChatGPT Plus/Pro (Codex) - GitHub Copilot For API, obviously, sky is the limit.

Okay, I'm so late to the party, it's time to just jump in and start - trying Pi tonight. Some people go out to dinner and drinks on Saturday night, some go to clubs, I try new agentic coding tools. I am probably the least cool person you know.

@skcd42 @aksheyd Nice! Didn’t realize the /feedback thing. If we could get that front and center so people always see it somewhere that might help especially given the current goals (improving the tool etc)

Regarding laziness we are on track for a new model checkpoint tomorrow which should be less lazy. We have a long way to go, so please keep sharing your feedbacks with /feedback or sending me a DM and we are working on making Grok Build the best tool for you.

Bug fixes shipping to Grok Build (release notes will be available in the TUI) 0.1.218 • Ctrl+X as default shortcuts help binding on Windows • Fix image pasting + shortcuts keybinding on Linux • User-specified duration for video generation tool • Ctrl+X as default shortcuts help binding on Windows • Support temporary screenshot images on mac • Validate image bytes to prevent retries • Improve compaction prompt (match training and rehydrate skills) • Increase ulimit on mac and linux, preventing ENOSPC errors from appearing and bricking the CLI • Multi-line image links are not clickable (and don't break anymore) We are focussing more on Linux and Windows so engineers on these platforms have a great experience.

Alright, very exciting morning, my overnight coding session with Grok Build worked! 🔥 I know the team at @xai has been working like crazy this week on daily updates to Grok Build. Whatever they did in the last 24-hours seems to have fixed the overnight build issues I was running into this week. And it sounds like even more updates coming this weekend, so safe to say, I'm pretty excited right now! Here's what I woke up to see:

Working on making a more detailed prompt to get overnight coding session working correctly in Grok Build. Tonight, I'm being very specific about the two things that went wrong the last two nights, so hopefully it will build this into the plan and prompt for /implement The prompt I used is below, and snippet from the Grok plan is in the first comment below. Let's see how it does, aiming for an 8:30am bedtime tonight so that's it for me. Grok Build, pull an all-nighter for me.

@elonmusk @JasonBud @morganlinton Yeah this is honestly the biggest painpoint right now. When it works, it works well. But right not it's almost unusable (not trying to be dramatic). I keep telling it to build and it says it's continuing then just stops lol. Can't wait for the fixes though!

@JasonBud @morganlinton As Jason mentions, it’s a top priority. Grok was initially trained to give quick answers in chat mode, rather than think hard for as long as needed to get the task right, which is what matters in agentic mode. We are fixing that.

Okay so quick update on my overnight coding session with Grok Build last night. I thought it was completely done and ready to commit. But when I asked Grok, it said, it's not, still one final set of fixes to be done. I think this is probably one area where Grok Build could improve. Since it knew it wasn't done, but the plan was to build it, until done, it should have realized this and continued going. That being said, with the speed the team is moving at, I wouldn't be surprised if this behavior is optimized by the weekend.

Morgan@morganlinton

Very cool - Grok Build is clearly getting better by the day. Two nights ago I ran an overnight build and it failed. Last night, success. I really like the multi-agent orchestration behavior, it does a really good job of spinning up agents to build vs. review, and an orchestration agent that makes sure everyone follows the plan. I'm impressed, the @xai team is clearly making really meaningful progress here, very quickly.

@elonmusk Been trying it for the last ~12 hours. TUI is very nice, feels extremely fast. But /loop cancels after ~3-5 minutes of running for me. Overall UI/UX design quality output is lacking as well. Can't speak to code quality yet.

Reminder that Grok Build is iterating extremely fast and we are highly responsive to critical feedback. Fixes & upgrades are dropping every day.
Brivael Le Pogam@brivael

Just started testing the @grok Build beta. First feel: UX is nice, still some rough edges, but model speed is genuinely cool. If task quality on hard stuff matches opus 4.7 (or even slightly below) at this speed, it's a game-changer. Good chance they steamroll the competition.

@elonmusk Wait, so if they want to hold firearm companies responsible for how people use them why can’t we hold judges responsible for letting violent criminals continue to do harm?

This is great. At least those judges who release violent criminals who go on to hurt more people will be publicly shamed!
JohnnyFSE@JohnnyFSE

I built CourtWatch.us — a free public database for American citizens who deserve safer communities. You can track which judges released defendants who then got rearrested, skipped court, or violated their release conditions. All public records. All free. I started with Orange County FL and will be expanding to all 67 Florida counties and eventually every state in the country. This first batch of info is from 2024 and since public reports are released in March/April for the previous year, data is behind. But I wanted to see if this is plausible. After adding 2024,I'll add 2025 and then figure out how to get real-time-data uploaded. It's in beta — would love to know what you think 👇 Numbers don't lie, but criminals do. courtwatch.us @bennyjohnson @jockowillink @GrantCardone @LauraLoomer @nickshirleyy @j_fishback

My Anthropic bill for the past 2 weeks has been insane and I've been desperately trying to figure out how to cut costs. I think I finally figured out how to cut it by 10x, so I hope this works. Most agent tasks are janitorial. Reading files, checking status, formatting output, answering "what time is it in Tokyo?" or "why is ETH price down so bad?" This stuff doesn't require a $15/M model. The fix is hierarchical routing based on task complexity: - Routine (80%) > DeepSeek at $0.14/M File ops, status checks, simple Q&A, formatting - Moderate (15%) > Sonnet at $3/M Code, summaries, drafts, light analysis - Hard (5%) > Opus at $15/M Debugging, architecture, multi-step reasoning $225/month on pure Opus vs $19/month with hierarchy. Packaged this into an agent skill that teaches your AI to classify tasks and route them to the cheapest model that can handle them. 28 tests, works with OpenClaw, Claude Code, or any agent system. Boom. Check it out and lmk if it saves you money without degrading your output. github.com/zscole/model-h…
