We need to flood the party. To Danielle Smith: @ABDanielleSmith Put the independence question on the October 19 ballot exactly as Mitch Sylvestre submitted it — using his original wording. This was a citizen-initiated petition. Honour the process and the people who signed it. Make it the first question counted. And to Mitch Sylvestre and his family — thank you. Dear Premier Smith, I am writing to you today with growing frustration. The Memorandum of Understanding has not produced the meaningful results Albertans were promised, and time is running out. This is no longer simply an economic struggle. It has become a fight for the very soul of our province. Albertans hold dear the values of hard work, personal freedom, individual responsibility, faith, family, and common sense. These foundational principles are being steadily eroded by a woke federalist agenda that most of us can no longer accept. This agenda includes reckless globalist immigration policies that continue to flood our communities with newcomers who refuse to integrate into our way of life. Instead, they import a third-world lifestyle that is putting unbearable pressure on our housing, our healthcare system, and our social fabric. With the federal government determined to bring in over a million people per year, this crisis will only intensify. Let me be clear: Alberta is not choosing to leave Canada. Canada left Alberta 50 or 60 years ago. While I appreciate the stand you have taken, it has not been enough. Whether Conservatives or Liberals hold power in Ottawa makes little difference to us. Alberta has never truly had a voice in Confederation, and federal governments of any stripe will always cater to Quebec and Ontario first. This growing disillusionment has now reached deep inside your own party. Roughly 60% of the UCP base now supports Alberta independence, and that number appears to be growing. These are proud, hardworking, self-reliant Albertans who refuse to watch their values and way of life disappear. The time for half-measures and delays is over. Alberta needs a referendum now. Court challenges may come, but they should not prevent the people from having their say. You have the power to put the question to Albertans. I urge you to use it. Respectfully, @ABDanielleSmith
