I am honoured to receive an honorary doctoral degree from the University of Lagos at its 56th Convocation. To be recognised by an institution that has shaped generations of Nigerian leaders is both humbling and deeply significant to me. I have always believed that education is the foundation of national progress. Nations advance when knowledge, and institutions are treated as strategic priorities. Where education is neglected, development falters. This conviction continues to guide my work in business and philanthropy. Now, as a proud Akokite, I look forward to engaging more closely with the University of Lagos to support its pursuit of excellence. In this regard, I intend to work with the University to establish a series of grants, scholarships, and awards designed to promote merit, reward excellence, and expand opportunity. In addition, I am committing to the construction of a world-class law facility for the University of Lagos. Through the @OandoFoundation, we will also intensify our investment in the younger generation reinforcing our longstanding commitment to education, institutional development, and national progress. I congratulate the graduands and my fellow honourees. Your responsibility begins now. Nigeria’s future will be shaped by the quality of your thinking, the discipline of your actions, and the integrity with which you serve. #greatakokite #winning #oandofoundation

• The central bank has mopped up all previous loose money within one year. • Stabilized exchange rate. • We have pulled back from the brink of total economic collapse. • Inflation is coming down from a very high level of few years ago. • We have built up reserves of over $40 billion. • The economy has grown first quarter by more than 3%, second quarter by more than 4%. • ….and this is the first time in a long time that this economy has grown than the population. The Emir of Kano, His Highness, Muhammad Sanusi II, has nothing but high praises for President Tinubu lead renewed hope administration.

The removal of the fuel subsidy created a cash flow that should never have been shared with FAAC. It should have gone to the NSIA and been earmarked for infrastructure, health, and education. The President's party controlled the House and Senate; they could have passed legislation to this effect. They didn't. President BAT took the path of least resistance and bent the knee to the governors. What's the point of having governors decamp if you can't get those governors to agree on strategic priorities? Don't you know, Mr. President, that you could have funded your coastal road project by agreeing with those state governors to fund it together—at least part of it? Do you really believe the federal government has the cash to fund that project alone? Last year, you got N16t in revenue and spent only N400b on CAPEX, yet Akwa Ibom, Rivers, Delta, and even Edo have oil billions. Again, what's the point of the "largest party in Africa"? Where is the master strategy? Where is the subsidy money today? States have plowed it into salaries; the federal government has used it to service debt. Nigeria has wasted another opportunity—again. How does the President hope to pay for his grandiose projects across Nigeria? Debt? Nigeria is currently paying 74% of her revenues to service debt in the first half of 2025. Nigeria has no buffers. The CBN is swimming in high-interest FPI. The NNPC has already tapped out. Consumers are not consuming. Some of you on social media still think this is a game of alphabets and tribes—that you can tweet and abuse your way out of it. If Brent crude drops to $50, boys and girls, this dance is over. Keep standing on that spending mandate; the breakfast will go round.

Dear Olawale, Thank you for your feedback. The word Lucifer is something that churchgoers often misunderstand. Lucifer does not appear in Scripture. The Old Testament was written in Hebrew, and the actual Hebrew word used in Isaiah 14:12 is Hê-lêl (הֵילֵ֣ל). The term "Lucifer" is a Latin word that means "light bearer." The translators of the King James Version made numerous translation mistakes, and Lucifer is one of them. The prophet was referring to the king of Babylon in that verse, and not some malevolent spiritual being. That is why I have often urged Christians to read Scripture in the original languages. It will be as if you are reading it for the very first time. Your so-called English translation does not capture the actual words and intent of the Scriptures. To answer your question directly, I assume you mean devil when you refer to Lucifer. It is my understanding that devil worshippers do not pretend that he is God. They worship him for what he is. Since you and I are not devil worshippers, let us focus on God and leave satan's people to fixate on him. Thanks again, and may God bless you. Reno Omokri Gospeller. Deep Thinker. #TableShaker. @cabeecroft23 The Dangote refinery has the market share in cooking gas sales ahead of any depot. It was not selling for over two weeks this is what caused the shortage in the market and lead to the price increase not the Pengassan strike!

PENGASSAN disrupted the downstream sector of the economy for basically a selfish reason. Now gas prices have skyrocketed, and those hailing them then are now blaming APC for the prices. See, this is classic ment! Next time, when sensible people are raising alarms, you all will do well to stay silent as some discussions are way above your abilities to comprehend.

The Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway is one of President Bola Tinubu's best gifts to Nigeria. Those who have condemned this historic project will be ashamed of themselves when the Tinubu administration completes the road. Though construction is ongoing, the stretch from Ogombo to Ahmadu Bello Way has greatly blessed users, slashing commuting time by more than 50 per cent. On Friday morning, when I set out from Ajah to Isaac John in Ikeja, Google Maps first indicated the journey would last two and a half hours. But in a flash, it showed me an alternative route that will last just 70 minutes. I took the option and found myself on the Coastal Road. In less than 25 minutes, we arrived at the Ahmadu Bello end of the road. Except for the traffic snarl at the MRS fuel station caused by motorists queuing for Dangote petrol, the journey to Ikeja was smooth sailing. We arrived in Ikeja in a record 65 minutes on an usually traffic-busy Friday. Blessed be the visioner and dreamer, and blessed be the contractors for the quality work on the road. NB: The Coastal Road is not fully open to traffic.

People from left right and center are creating cheap histories full of lies for political gains and recognitions. Don’t worry, you are the next inline for the PA appoinment Due to your narrative above, Oga Tinubu would be happy and has forgiven all your insult, and your PA appointment will soon be announced

How President Tinubu's Mother Initiated The Creation of Lagos State With The Help of Chief Awolowo I just watched an interview by a prominent celebrity and music star, whose father I knew, where he said Lagos State is no man's land. I believe that this fellow means well but is not well-advised about the history of Lagos State, so I will oblige him. Attached is the official British colonial map of Nigeria, its three regions, and the colony of Lagos. As you can see from this map, other than Lagos Island and portions of Apapa, the entirety of what is now known as Lagos State was part of the Western Region of Nigeria. The Western Region of Nigeria Government, under Chief Obafemi Awolowo, was responsible for the creation of Ikeja. Ikeja is not a Lukumi Yoruba word. It is an acronym formed from the words Ikorodu and Epe Joint Administration. The place now known as Ikeja, the capital of Lagos State, was previously known as Ala-Hausa. That word, Ala-Hausa, comes from Ala, a generic Lukumi Yoruba term used to describe something or someone associated with a trade, place, or thing. For example, Alata is someone who trades in Ata (pepper) or Alaba (Aba means meeting point in Lukumi Yoruba) is people who meet at the Aba. Over time, Ala-Hausa became bastardised as Alausa, where the Lagos State Government offices are situated within Ikeja. Meanwhile, Alaba became a major market in the Ojo Local Government of Lagos. Chief Awolowo developed Ikeja, Oshodi, Isolo, Bariga, and Orile Iganmu as industrial clusters in the Western Region of Nigeria. These clusters produced goods that were used domestically and exported to other West African countries via the Lagos ports. These areas were never a part of Lagos Island. That is why, even today, the major businesses in those areas are still linked to the Odu'a Investment Company, which was formerly known as the Western Nigeria Development Company, and was founded by Chief Awolowo in 1959. After the January 15, 1966, Ifeajuna-Nzeogwu coup, and the July 29, 1966, Northern counter coup, Lt. Colonel Yakubu Gowon released Chief Awolowo from prison. Chief Awolowo was ordered released by the Gowon-led Federal Military on August 2, 1966 (the release took effect the next day). Gowon had become Head of State on August 1, 1966. The official gazette of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, documenting the pardon granted to Chief Awolowo, was dated August 12, 1966. I am attaching a photo of that Gazette. While Chief Awolowo was in prison, one of the major advocates for his release was the then Iyaloja of Market women in Lagos Island and environs. Her name was Alhaja Abibatu Mogaji. She was the mother of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, and they bear a striking resemblance (please see attached photo). When Chief Awolowo was released, she organised a big rally to receive him at Ikeja Airport, and begged him to actualise Lagos State. I am attaching a photo taken during Alhaji Mogaji's rally on Wednesday, August 3, 1966, to celebrate Chief Awolowo's release from prison. You can clearly see her demand for the creation of Lagos State. To reward her for fighting for his freedom, Chief Awolowo advocated for the creation of Lagos State with the Gowon administration, which was desperate to get his endorsement. On Saturday, May 27, 1967, Alhaja Mogaji got her wish as Lagos State was created out of the former Western Region, with its capital at Alausa, Ikeja. The districts of Lagos Island, which had been Nigeria's capital, were not part of Lagos State. Lagos State, as it exists today, was the brainchild of Alhaja Mogaji and Chief Obafemi Awolowo and was carved out of Western Nigeria. So, for anyone to say that Lagos State is a no-man's land, or that they developed Lagos, is not historically accurate. Reno Omokri Gospeller. Deep Thinker. #TableShaker. Anyone who took that narrative of “Igbos don’t sell land to outsiders in the East” will also believe that “Landlords don’t rent house to Igbos in Lagos”. You see, these two situations have happened and may still happen BUT they are not parameters to define and stereotype either of the tribes mentioned. Till date, there are some Yoruba homes you can NEVER bring Igbo to as your spouse and there are homes you can’t bring Yoruba to as your spouse either BUT does that mean Yorubas don’t marry Igbos or Igbos don’t marry Yorubas? Again, some Nigerians - the very minority of our people - have always fed on bigotry but my joy is that it has NEVER DEFINED US AS A NATION. Stop amplifying the voices of these minorities. Stop fueling divisive rhetoric. Don’t destroy Nigeria. Ire o✌🏽

NIGERIA POLICE CONDEMNS UNLAWFUL USE OF POLICE UNIFORMS BY CONTENT CREATORS. As Police Launches Investigation Into Circulating Video By VDM. The Nigeria Police Force strongly condemns the unauthorized use of official uniforms and accoutrements by an online personality, Mr. Martins Otse, popularly known as “VDM,” in a video posted on his social media platforms. The Force unequivocally disassociates itself from this unauthorized portrayal and has launched a full investigation to determine the source of the Police gear used, as well as the authority under which he acted. It is important to remind the public that the unauthorized use of Police uniforms, insignia, or accoutrements constitutes a criminal offense, as stipulated in Section 251 of the Criminal Code Law and Section 133 of the Penal Code Law, and is subject to strict penalties. While the Nigeria Police Force recognizes and supports the creativity of young Nigerians in the content creation space, we strongly caution against the misuse of Police uniforms or symbols. Unauthorized use of these items undermines the values and integrity of the Force and will not be tolerated.
