Abba Dahiru Mangal A servant ready to represent Katsina Central Abba Dahiru Mangal is a son of Katsina who believes leadership is about service, not status. He has had the opportunity to work closely with leaders at the national level, where he learned how government decisions affect ordinary people—farmers, traders, students, and workers. These experiences taught him one important lesson: policies only matter when they improve real lives. He studied Law and graduated with strong academic results, not for titles, but to better understand how to defend the rights of the people and speak for them where it matters most. Beyond government, Abba has been involved in business and community development. He understands the struggles of: - Young people looking for jobs - Small business owners trying to grow - Families dealing with rising costs of living He believes Katsina deserves: - More opportunities for youth employment - Support for small businesses and local traders - Better access to education and basic services - Honest representation that listens and responds Abba is not coming with promises of perfection. He is coming with a willingness to listen, to learn, and to work. He believes leadership is not about who speaks the loudest, but who serves the people best. With your support, he hopes to represent Katsina Central with humility, fairness, and dedication—putting the needs of the people first, always. Together, we can build a better future—step by step.

Yesterday, I had the privilege of visiting my comrade, friend, and elder brother, Femi Falana (SAN). Our relationship spans over four decades, rooted in shared struggles and an enduring commitment to justice. Between 1987 and January 1988, we worked closely on the anti-apartheid front under the Nigeria–ANC Friendship and Cultural Association. In collaboration with the leadership of the Nigeria Labour Congress, then led by Adamu Ciroma, we organized a massive demonstration during the stopover visit of Margaret Thatcher on January 7, 1988. I led the students’ contingent. True to our convictions, we pushed beyond the permitted boundaries, crossing onto the tarmac to display our placards directly to the “Iron Lady.” She froze momentarily at the boldness of our action. Five of us were immediately arrested and detained at the airport police station. Today, only two of us who took that stand remain alive: Odion Sylvester, now a university professor, and myself. This reflection is also in memory and honour of our fallen comrades, Olaitan Oyerinde, Chris Ayaeze (Papa Chris), and Rotimi Ewebiyi, whose sacrifices remain etched in the history of our struggle. Beyond the anti-apartheid movement, my collaboration with Comrade FF ,as we fondly called Femi Falana(SAN), continued on multiple fronts. In late 1988, he served as my pro bono lawyer when I challenged the Ibrahim Babangida regime over the continuation of the Structural Adjustment Programme without an enabling Act. He was also part of the legal team led by our mentor and President of the Nigeria Bar Association, Alao Aka-Bashorun, during my detention in solitary confinement in 1989, alongside my colleague in the case Gbenga Komolafe and Gbenga Olawepo, Vs the Attorney General of the Federation,a case that became a locus clasicus. Comrade Falana was equally instrumental in my appointment as National Administrative Secretary of the National Consultative Forum and the Committee for the Defence of Human Rights, a salaried job that made me report to the late Dr Beko Ransome-Kuti. Through the years, we have remained steadfast allies in the struggle to sustain and deepen democracy in Nigeria. In our recent consultations, we reaffirmed our commitment to preserving Nigeria’s multi-party democracy and resisting any drift toward a one-party state.

The only time you ever see Atiku in Nigeria is during election periods. A man who switches political parties every election year clearly doesn't care about the people. But only in advancing his selfish ambitions. You will never see him talk about solutions to the economy, insecurity, or the k!llings carried out by fulani terr0rists. A person like that cannot improve the lives of ordinary Nigerians.
